Right on the border of ME and NH, it is great location to watch wildlife, paddle lake Umbagoog or the nearby Androscroggin (spell?), visit nearby scenic spots or just relax. The Inn is beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean and Bob and Charlotte are awesome hosts.
You will feel like you never left home! Comfy and cozy. The rooms are nicely decorated each with it's own theme. The common room is spcaious and bright.
We have already booked another night and also plan to return next year.

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious. When booking Charlotte or Bob will gladly advise which room will suit your needs.

This is a great place to stay; cheaper than Bethal, yet not that far away. The inn is the cleanest I've ever seen and the keepers, Charlotte & Bob, are warm, friendly and very helpful. The only problem I see i,s it list as being in Oxford, Maine but it is actually in UPTON, Maine.

Room Tip: I've been there several times. I favor the Native American Room. Take the Victorian Room if you are sharing a room and want space. The extra is worth it.

We stayed two nights in August 2011. The house is beautiful, recently renovated and the rooms are nicely decorated. The bed was confortable and each room is decorated in themes with a lot of little details. There is also a common room available for guests with tables, chairs, rocking chairs, fridge, microwave. The room in front is facing the street and was a bit noisy the first night because it was a weekday, but much quieter the next day. All the other rooms are facing in the back.
The breakfast is good and simple. You make your own. The hosts are very nice people and ready to accomodate you in any way possible. If you like the outdoor, there is great lakes and hiking around. The Screw Auger Falls is worth visiting. We would certainly stay there again.

Conveniently located on 26 near the Maine and New Hampshire border, Upton house provides easy access to the Grafton Notch and Umbagog wildlife refuge. This is a charmingly renovated Bed and Breakfast with wonderful hosts. Continental breakfast with access to fridge, microwave, and dish tv in the common area. This is a rural area with dead zones, so if you want to enjoy nature (hiking, fishing, photography, painting, etc) and explore the western part of Maine lakes area and Eastern north part of New Hampshire, this B and B is the perfect location and place to stay.

Room Tip: the rooms at the front of the house are fairly near the road, noise is noticed from time to time. Other rooms overlook the backyard.
