Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for our visit to Petra. It is a 5min downhill walk to the gates of Petra. The pricier Movenpick is just below Petra Moon. I am glad that we chose the more economical hotel; as Petra Moon proved to be a gem! In our book, they are at par with Movenpick maybe even better. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The beds are comfortable and linens are crisp. Our room faced the hills of Petra where if we chose we could watch the sunset. We never did watch it from there though....we watched it from the rooftop restaurant while having dinner. However, it should be noted that this is a "dry" hotel so if you preferred to end your day with a glass of alcohol in hand. It won't happen here. My DH and I didn't mind though as we woke up early most days to beat the July heat for our Petra hikes.

The 24hr restaurant offers a good breakfast buffet. We were always welcomed by Hassan and Abdullah in the morning. Two welcoming souls who if able talked to us about their life in Petra. What is travel without learning and connecting with people, right?

Overall, I would come back to this hotel and highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Petra.

We stayed at Petra Moon hotel in early July 2017 as part of our organised tour of Jordan. We had two rooms a family room that could fit up to eight and a double room. The family room could have fit us all. The room was not the most modern, however comfortable for us all. Some of the furniture started to look dated. The pool on the roof is great overlooking some beautiful views of Petra. Staff were very friendly and the food was exceptional. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Stay in the family room, you can fit a family of eight in there. Nice rooftop pool and close to Petra entrance.

This hotel is very nice. It has very nice furnitures. (This is unusual considering most hotels use "modern" furnitures.) It is located right in front of Petra Park entrance. There are a few good restaurants near by as well.

The hotel also has a very nice car to be booked by the guests. We used this service to return to Aqaba after visiting Petra. The driver is very professional and speak very good English. We had a very good chat on the way back to Aqaba.

There is a big board at the gate of Petra Park specifying the recommended taxi prices to various locations within Jordan. You can use that as a guide. You may have to negotiate the price with the hotel depending on the price they asked for your trip.To Aqaba should be around 40JD.

This was the best hotel we stayed in while in Jordan. It's under renovation right now, but it was still the best. We did arrive after 3 days in Wadi Rum, with no shelter or shower, but still, that only colored our perception the first night.

The staff was really nice. Always smiling and very helpful. Our room was huge, very clean and there was a great shower. Stong WiFi. Great AC.

The location is fantastic, just 100 meters from the entrance to Petra.

We didn't do breakfasts because we were at Petra, so I don't know about the food. There is a very chic pool area though.

For what you get, the price is great. I highly recommend this hotel if you're planning to see Petra.

Pretty disappointing since I had read so many good comments. Quite old, AC not working properly (they seem to be changing it so hope soon should be solved). Horrible view from our room in first floor (people could watch our room so we had to close curtains) Breakfast more or less. Some good points though, BBQ at rooftop was delicious, rooftop itself is great and staff very kind
