I have been at Vinomundo for yrs and even had a birthday party. Food is always amazing and service one of a kind. Awesome scenic views and the restaurant itself it’s beautiful. The cavas are perfect for events.

So close to Santa Ana and Escazu nothing compares...unique food, rich flavors, best beef cuts this place has everything for every taste... from tuna to ribeye, duck and lamb. The menu is just exquisite delicately crafted, thoughtful in every way and the service so confident and knowledgeable, food comes in timely matter, very tasteful mix of natural fruits and spices that build up flavor in every single dish...

Driving home from San Jose on a Monday evening, we stopped by a favorite Italian restaurant in Ciudad Colon but they were closed. Frustrating considering we had checked their website and there was nothing mentioned about a Monday closure--- we were very hungry and suddenly uncertain about where to go next.
I checked TripAdvisor's reviews for restaurants and noticed one nearby- Vino Mundo, so we headed there.
The road to Vino Mundo is through a residential neighborhood on a very steep hill. It was dark and we felt a little uncertain but followed our GPS and very soon found the entrance. We drove down a long driveway which suddenly dropped down to a small parking area on the left.
The restaurant was quite an amazing site- an open brick and wood-beamed large, multi-level terrace with wine bottles lining it.
We walked the expanse of the entire restaurant, past nicely set tables with wine glasses aplenty on each. The large area had just one table occupied by a party of two at the early dinner hour of 6:30 p.m.
We chose round four top table and were quickly greeted by our personable waiter, Jonathan.
The menu provided included a full page of starters and two other pages of fresh pastas, meat entrees, and salads.
The wine list was comprehensive and my parents each opted for a a glass of French Pinot Noir which they claimed was fantastic ($10 a glass! Eek) I had mineral water while my boyfriend chose Pilsner beer.
For a starter we chose the meat and cheese board which had a nice selection of proscuitto, salames, three types of hard cheese, a cranberry jelly, pecans, green olives, two small bread rolls, and several skinny bread sticks. Delicious and the perfect amount for 4 persons.
For the main course we ordered the special goat cheese ravioli with house made peso, a fresh fettucine in parmesan light cream with chicken, bacon, & microgreens, the black squid ink spaghetti w mussels, and a chicken dish with grilled vegetables and mashed potatos.
All the food was divine, the service superb, and the ambient open-air dining was inviting.
Our bill was $185 USD including tip.

We left very satisfied with memories to last a lifetime.
