At the edge of downtown sits Nomades, a small boutique hotel. I can’t think of a way to improve it.
The architecture is phenomenal. As I write this I’m sitting in the common area on the second floor, admiring the high barrel ceiling and heavy beams. This place must have cost a fortune to build. The architect deserves an award (maybe he/she already has one).
I think all (or most) of the rooms are at the back of the hotel, with a great view over the forest and a small river. The hotel is set back a bit from a very busy street. Today there was a lot of noisy road construction going on in front of the hotel, but in our room we couldn’t hear a thing. We had Room 4 -very nice.
The downtown is just a few blocks away, and several restaurants are even closer. One adjoins the hotel itself.
Most of the staff seems to speak little English, as we found in most boutique hotels we visited in Chile. If you don’t speak little bit of Spanish be prepared to stumble around, and maybe used your Google Translate. I only speak a tiny bit and it wasn’t a problem; that’s part of the adventure.
Highly recommended.
