We recently returned from a one week visit at Playa Turquesa. Overall, it was a great place to stay, with the beach and swimming pools both in super close proximity. There were also two shopping markets and lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance (Citrus restaurant was great and the Supermercado Ciccolella is cheaper than BAM market). The staff were all super kind and kept the grounds clean and secure. There were no crowds whatsoever, so we never had any problems getting beach chairs or sharing the communal spaces. The restaurant on the beach also had absolutely amazing food for good prices and decent drinks that you could take on the beach.

There are just a few things that could have been improved, but didn’t overall ruin our stay. Firstly is that it is often very noisy at night with the bars/restaurants nearby and rather thin walls. We also had a security guard right outside our room who had loud walkie-talkie conversations or played music at pre-dawn hours every morning. There’s a pesky rooster somewhere nearby who was a nice 5:00 alarm clock. Secondly, the beach was not as pristine as their photos showed due to massive amounts of seaweed, although the staff did make an effort to clean. One day the seaweed was a several feet high, blocking entrance to the water, and the staff had to wait until the next day to arrange for machinery to remove it. From what we heard and read, the seaweed issue seems to come and go, and we happened to be unlucky that it was really prolific during our stay. Definitely ruined our photos a bit, sadly, but didn’t deter our enjoyment of the sunshine!

Fist time in a condo and love it!
We usually go on vacation in an all inclusive hotel, but after speaking to some friends which are regular customers at Turquesa we decide to rent a condo for four weeks.

At our arrival we were amaze at the condition of the condo B201 “clean, spacious, well maintain” same comfort or even better that home. The condo is well situated close to some restaurant, store, shop, grocery store, gym, beach, all within short walking distance. The condo has a larger balcony with lovely lounging furniture a barbeque and has a fantastic ocean view.

The complex is very secure and safe, the gardeners do and excellent keeping the ground emasculate and the entire work force are very friendly.

No last by not lease our rep: Liz Borges Cabrera was just exceptional for the first e-mail sent to inquire about the condo to the last day of our vacation Liz was very easy to contact and always willing to help. Thank you Liz for your excellent service and attention to customer detail!

Would I return to Turquesa condo B201 Definitely? Yes!

Our 2nd floor Condo E202 was steps away from the pool and just a few minutes walk to the beach. The outside grounds, pool areas and beach are immaculate. They rake the seaweed every day. I have to say it was not the clearest water I have ever seen but it was also windy while we were there, so there were some waves. It was still very picturesque and refreshing. You never have to worry about getting a lounge chair on the beach. They are only for guests and even though we were there the week before Easter, there were plenty.

The security in this gated community is very apparent. Initially we could not get the sliding glass door to the patio to lock (Maria took care of that quickly) but I have to say we did not worry about it. By the end of the week we left screen doors and windows open to take advantage of the breeze and not use air conditioning.

Having the TOC beach bar and restaurant right there on the beach was awesome. The food and drinks are exceptional. They only take cash. US $ are accepted but you will get the change in Pesos.
And the view.....

The wifi inside the apartment was fine. Although they gave us passwords for the common areas we never figured out how to use them. It was OK -we wanted to stay connected but not too connected.

The Bam market, restaurants and bakery just outside the gated area are so convenient, inexpensive and I always felt safe there. There is a guard in the parking lot.

Communication can be difficult if you are non spanish speaking. I was surprised at how few English speaking workers there were in a touristy area. Sometimes they got our order wrong at the restaurants, etc but we felt that is the price to pay for experiencing another culture. Also be prepared for music, sometimes loud. The Dominicans love their music! I

We stayed in unit K404 and this was a nice condo with a beautiful view of the ocean and pool. The unit is very spacious compared to what you would get at an All inclusive. It’s a quiet complex with not much to do but the pools are nice. There are good restaurants in the area and the beach bar is good. The overall complex could use some updates. Need more shade by the pools. Overall it’s a good value.

Room Tip: K404 has a great location and is a very nice unit! Get’s loud at night until about 11 due to the hotel next door but didn’t bother us.
