We had supper at the Bavaro Palace Santa Fe restaurant. We did not expect the service we had from Ramon. First, during supper, he always chose the right moment to poor the wine. And speaking of pooring, we never had to touch the bottle! ( sounds cliche but I think it is something sumiller tend to loose very fast). By his demeanour and presentation, we felt like we were in a 5 stars restaurant.

Great time ! Waldfren Santana made everything smooth process !!! No complaints professional and easy flow ! Came into the facility and he welcomed us with courteous manner and made everything effortless and straight forward ! Everyone from my group had a great experience!

This is by far the worst experience I had at a resort in my life. I had stayed at other Barceló properties but this 1 is absolutely trash. I usually don't write reviews but I just couldn't help myself this time.
The staff and management are very rude and unhelpful. Except few of them. If u ask for anything they react as if u have ask for their arms and legs. About 3 months before my check in, I had emailed the property and asked to have our rooms close by since we had 3 rooms. I got a reply saying they will try to do it. Upon check in we found out our rooms are all scattered. So I had to request the agent to put us close by. I had also asked them to have a small cake in the room as we were celebrating a birthday. I was told it will be done but never happened.
They don't have any face mask anywhere except in the room. So if u forget ur mask then u have to walk back half a mile again to get it otherwise buy 1 for $3. How can u not have mask at the front desk during a pandemic? And they won't serve u without mask at the outdoor bar. So even if u r going to the pool or beach u still need to get ur mask otherwise u can't get anything from the bar.
Most of the staff don't speak English. So if you don't speak Spanish then plz be prepared to use Google translate all the time.
Now let me talk about the food and service.
Food is worse than dinner food. Long line at the buffet. Very unsanitary. Plates and utensils are dirty. Dry and extremely salty food. We made reservation at the seafood restaurant Coral. It was beyond bad. We waited literally over 1 hour for our appetizers. And when it came out it was dry and not eatable. We literally got up and left. No one even bother to ask us what's wrong. They just watched us leave.
We are checking out tomorrow. I couldn't wait to tell people about my experience about this property. Barcelo in Cancun and Aruba was much nicer.
Also I forgot to mention, a week before check in I had emailed them again to confirm the rooms and cake. I waited 5 days and got no response. So I emailed again asking what do I have to do to get a response? Do I have a write a bad review in order to get a response? In return I got an email back saying I can write whatever review I want. They respond to emails on 1st come 1st basis. And the language was very rude.
I had ask the gym attendant for a towel and he responded by pointing at the table and shouting that there's no towel.

I have so much more but I'm tired. This place is in need of some serious hospitality training. I will never stay at this property. I will make sure none of my friends and family never stay here also. Because of this I will actually never stay at any barcelo properties. If someone from the management wants to reach out to me personally then my email is shumon326@yahoo.com

This will be our second time visiting the beautiful Barcelo Bavaro Palace. We arrive on October 27 and will be staying for a week. We are so excited to come back as in our first visit a few years ago, my wife and kids had a wonderful vacation. With Covid restrictions, I know some things may have changed and we are going with an open mind.

The ratings I'm giving today are based in our previous stay.

I will be writing a new review of our stay once we return but our expectations are high, can't wait!.

Very attentive to their guests and go above and beyond with their service. You will not be disappointed. Walfren santana went above and beyond to get me a lost copy of my niece's covid test. Super amazing!
