Only Marie Antoinette could find fault with the service. There were too many small but significant personal gestures to list in detail. The staff should be highly commended.

We stayed in a standard deluxe room, which was spacious and very comfortable, in the main building. The only drawback was the number of steps – 100 from the hotel elevator to the beach. But the hotel has many steps in general, so if you stay in one of the more expensive units closer to the beach then you will find yourself walking up just as often as we walked down. The hotel layout maximizes the available site, which is rather narrow and steep. The four pools are quite nice and varied – suitable for romantic couples as well as families with children (and that is no small achievement). The beachfront is narrow – while they squeeze the maximum number of chairs into the available space, it can be difficult to find an open lounge chair by the pool or the beach. As a result, people tend to go down early to “stake out” places with their towels, and seem to keep them reserved this way all day, even when they are not using them. This is unfortunate, since there would be enough for all if people were a bit more considerate. And I admit that we found ourselves doing the same thing, after being “closed out” on our first day.

Breakfast was very good, with a very broad range available. It was very relaxed, with all items kept “refreshed” at all times, no matter what time we chose to eat. The open-air Bellini restaurant near the beach was pleasant for both lunch and dinner. It would have been nice, however, to have more options for excursions elsewhere in the evening. The hotel offers shuttle service to Ao Nang during the daytime (for a minimal fee), but for some inexplicable reason there is no shuttle service offered anywhere in the evenings. The only options are rather expensive taxis.

We would also recommend that the hotel reconsider its pricing for massage treatments at the spa. The spa is quite nice, but the treatments are expensive, especially in light of the fact that Thai massages are offered privately just a few meters walk down the beach. The ambiance of the latter is much less sophisticated, of course, but I suspect that the spa would do a much more vigorous business if the prices could be reduced by half (which would still be twice what they charge on the beach).

All in all, we loved our four night stay, and we would definitely consider returning.

Although we live in KL, Malaysia, we had not taken a trip to Thailand before so to discover that it only took an hour or so's flight (same time as flying to Penang) to get to Krabi was a great surprise. It means we can consider this a weekend break destination - and we will be back again.
The big draw is the sunset - Amari Vogue is perfectly placed to view the most magnificent sunset ever. You can reserve a table at the restaurant to watch the sun go down as you eat - an incredible experience.
I noticed other reviewers commenting about the lack of other eating opportunities and the fact it is a long taxi ride to other bars and restaurants - if that's what you want, then maybe Amari Vogue isn't for you and you should stay nearer the town, but we were very happy with what was on offer. There are a couple of good seafood restaurants along the beach if you want something else.
We were upgraded on arrival to a one bedroom villa with a pool and that was marvellous - when we go back, we'd book that instead of a room. The private pool was good to relax in, though it was showing its age and the mosaic tiles were coming off. This didn't detract from the experience though.
The staff were lovely - friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. They even realised it was my birthday and brought me a cake!
The downside - there's building work going on next door, even on Sundays, but it wasn't too bad. Irritating to be woken early. It's built on a hill so there are many, many steps....
Overall view? It's a great hotel and one that we will return to. It's perfect for the shorter break - there's probably not that much to do on a longer stay. It gets a definite recommendation for the perfect weekend break from us.

Researched hotels extensively because I suffer from arthritis and no mention on website of multiple flights of steps and lack of elevator to various levels. Room beautiful but unfortunately was right next to building work so woken at 8am every morning and the hotel couldn't move us. Booked direct with a promise of one way airport transfer but hotel would not honour this but put a credit on our account instead but this meant it had to be used in the hotel. The hotel did provide dinner on the last night where we were entertained by a wonderful singing duo and a special mention for Wanna a lovely lady who seemed to be everywhere and is a credit to the Amari Vogue. Unfortunately this did not make up for the pain experienced due to steps and lack of sleep.

Room Tip: Check you are not on left hand side with ocean behind you that is the side a new hotel I'd being built

My husband and I wanted a relaxing, beautiful, and quiet location for our honeymoon. We stayed here for 5 days and it was everything we could have wanted.

Location- absolutely stunning. It is located right on the beach and there is some construction happening on the north side of the hotel but it wasn't very loud. On the plus side, this allowed the hotel to be at the end of a string of hotels on the beach meaning more space/less crowded beach area. The only tough side though was that it is very remote. We personally liked the quiet but when we wanted to go to a different restaurant that would be more affordable, we ended up paying 500 baht to and from the hotel. The taxi fee and the cost of the meal ended up being the same amount as if we stayed at the hotel.

Room- spacious and clean. The décor was beautiful and the attention to detail is lovely.

Pools- three pools to choose from. All lovely in their own way. Nice way to cool down under some shade. The chairs by the pool were comfortable as well. The elephant statues spraying water from their trunks were a nice touch.

Staff- friendly and cheerful. The staff at the restaurants were very attentive and kind. Concierge and people at the front desk were knowledgeable and helpful.

Food- great food but definitely pricy. We personally loved the Thai restaurant which for some reason was not really that packed too often. Bellini, their other restaurant, had a great view of the beach but we were not as impressed with their Italian dishes especially since the iron chef is known for Italian food. However, we did order the prawns one night and it was absolutely delicious. So if you go to Bellini, I would recommend ordering their Thai dishes over their Italian dishes. They also had a happy hour at Bellini everyday from 5:30-6:30 pm for half of drinks to watch the sunset. The sunset was probably the favorite part of our day. Absolutely stunning.

Overall, great experience and would go back again! :)

Wonderful location, hotel style and decor in keeping with the culture.Staff so smiley happy, attentive, efficient. We had a spa room which you could order the treatments there,I used this facility and the spa itself both brilliant massages and facial..still feeling benefits..a week and several days on. We have never left a weeks break feeling so relaxed....which wad a testiment to the hotel staff and location.. There was no need to eat elsewhere in that time as plenty of choice ..and themed food evenings..the seafood bbq beautiful.
