My stay at La Plage Marari was simply unforgettable! The Management and staff are extremely kind and attentive to their guest and ensure that I was comfortable the whole stay....and that cottage view, jusy amazing. - We were in room 108. Adjoining our room is a private property behind. Their dog kept barking/crying the entire night to let it in the house. We couldn't sleep till 5 am until the house owners took the dog in. From 6 am to 8 am, the house people were washing clothes with loud bangs. We couldn't sleep the entire night.
- It is definitely not worth 6200 including taxes for 1 night. Nope!
- I've never met hotel staff which is this slow and cold.
- The lighting in the room could be better.
- The property could just be even better if the house keeping/management took a little care of the property.
- The service could be better. We kept waiting for the server to deliver us ice, which was never delivered.
Good
- The location is to die for! It's right on the beach. You can hear the sound of the waves inside your room!
- Since the property was barely occupied, they served us A La Carte breakfast outside, almost on the beach. That view was brilliant.
My ask of a beach property is for a clean beach, no crowd and the ability to roll onto the beach straight out of your room. This one caters to all that and more.
Its located in a quiet village away from the bustle of a popular resort destination. The only downside is the two hour drive from Cochin airport. But then to get a quiet place in this country starved of good resorts that isnt much of an ask.
The property is split into two portions, separated by a small plot which has a house on it. Both portions run by the beach. We stayed in the smaller part which had 4 guest rooms, a small house for the manager and a big hall for the staff to stay. Since our group of friends occupied three of the four rooms we had a very private feel to the place.
The rooms were boutique with semi open bathrooms and large wooden beds. They had a huge window facing the sea. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The TV was a bit of disappointment but we barely got around to watching it.
The sand from the beach rolled upto the rooms. A wooden fence was all that defined the end of the property and where the beach began. It had a small gate to get onto the beach. At high tide the water lapped upto the fence and an extra beyond.
Its a white sand beach. Somewhat steep and one has to be careful. About 20 feet wide at low tide. Wave breakers on both end made this portion of the beach private and we were the only people found on it. The water was clean.
We spent most of our time on the property. The food was tasty though the variety was limited. They would serve the food in a large verandah next to the fence. Hence we had our lunch and dinner by the sea. Since it was only set up for us it was very private affair. Almost like living in our own little beach bungalow.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our kids played in the open area and it was quite safe, which is one of the things parents of 2 year olds need.
They cooked fish for us on request and it was amazing.
I would highly recommend this place.

I had a perfect break with my family in this property.
I stayed with my wife , mom , grandma and aunt. All of us have equally enjoyed the stay and the hospitality. All that we were looking for was a relaxed time together with a good view, ant this is exactly the place. It took use hours of search to find a perfect place. Since we wanted to spend time together without much of a moving around.
We Stayed on May 2019. The rooms were clean and spacious. AC was perfect for the summer. Until we say the room I was not sure of what to expect because what you see online is not always what you get at the time of arrival.
All this comes at a cost which is not a pock friendly one though. But yes the food was really good, I would like to appreciate the chef for the wonderful lunch. (look for photos)
Breakfast had a lot of variety than I expected. Being a Kerilite I would like to have the Kerala items like Puttu, appam and stew to be a little more better. But Poori Baji was so delicious. Vada was crispy small and good. Tea and coffee was also way above the average.
If you are looking for a swimming pool or Jacuzzi this place doset have it... but it has got the Arabian Sea right in front of the Property,
I wold like to thank the staff and the management for maintaining the property and friendliness.
Highly recommended in case if you are looking for a relaxed stay in front of sea.

It's all cottages and they are all located right on the beach. Most of the cottages have a great beach view,only a couple of them have partial view. Be sure to ask for the beachfront cottages.
We had booked 3 cottages and they all were spacious with huge and designer bathrooms. The interior is all rustic and well maintained. The standard cottages had very high beds and rough floors. The superior cottage had wooden floor and a huge bathroom with a concrete tub/jaccuzzi, shower and all.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a little dull. They had a decent spread but the food wasn't great. But we had ala carte lunch twice and both times it was good. We ordered Kerala food with fish curry, fish fry, etc.
To watch the fishermen haul in their catch early in the morning is a great sight. The sea is rough and the beach can be more neatly kept. But all in all, this is a nice place to spend a couple of days. Would definitely go back.
