“Wood fired pizza in the DR”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2012

It was a great place to get a taste of pizza and pasta that rivals some of the best at home. We shared both and had a great time.

“Surprisingly good Italian cuisine..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

Very good place on the beach with the roof in case of rain. Long list of Italian specialities, mainly pizzas. They would be great even in Italy. The pastas also very interesting. Generally not expensive, but mind your bill. One time we found, they overcharged us bit more. With the second visit, it was correct.

“Great Pizza and Jazz by the Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

Pomodoro is the best restaurant on the Cabarete beach, in my opinion. We go every Thursday for pizza, ensalada and jazz and then the most ambrosial gelato in the world (Antonio is the head chef and gelato man). Always a pleasure.

“Good Italian food on the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2012

We go to Pomodo quite often because there is this one appetizer which I love and it's really more than enough for dinner. Focaccia with prosciutto and parmesan cheese, topped with arugula. It's the size of a medium size pizza, full of good quality prosciutto not just a few pieces, and topped with home grown arugula (I was told the owner grows it in his house) - about USD10. Two can easily eat one.

Very good pizza and other italian dishes too. Owner is Italian so don't expect any other type of pizza but truly Italian style.
