I wanted to visit this Temple and spent a lot of time searching for a Bus route. I found some helpful blogs on the web which helped me visit the temple, so here is something that could be of use.
There are plenty of buses plying on the Trichy - Perambalur highway so relax, you will not find it difficult at all to find buses.
From Trichy, there is a local brown bus 98A that drops you right in front of this temple (fare Rs.20). There is a bus at 7:15 a.m. from Chatiram Bus Stand (the cluster that attends to Samayapuram route); travel time is about 90 minutes. Buses are spaced at roughly one hour frequency.
If the time does not suit you, then go to the Perambalur cluster (just next to Samayapuram cluster). you have buses every 15-20 minutes to Perambalur. You have to buy a ticket (fare Rs.25) for Tirupattur cut (also called Siruganur bus stop) right on the highway sidings. From that stop walk about 50 metres into the Tirupattur cut (there are prominent signages on the highway siding itself showing the direction to temple). You will have share taxis waiting for passengers. You will have to wait for accumulating the seating capacity. If you wish to hire your own, its much easier at Rs.150 (for 8 PAX vehicle). Its only Rs.20 if you have waiting time at hand.
On the way back, you can find buses at one hour frequency outside the temple but there is no time table displayed. Therefore it is easier to hire / share a Taxi to the highway siding and walk cross the highway to the Trichy side where there is proper Bus shelter and buses every minute to Trichy.
I hope this helps.
The temple itself is grandiose and an excellent place to visit for architecture buffs but the loud crowds, really badly maintained temple grounds further made dirty by the said crowds takes charm out of the temple visit. there is no serenity, no sense of spirituality that settles over you. Simply visit as a tourist spot.
The person who visits Pushkar brahma temple has to be really beware of the local pandits or u can even call them goons who forces even threatens you to donate a minimum of Rs. 3000/- .I had to confront a huge group of people when I denied to do so .. no reason why the temple isn’t famous yet .. shame on them ...
