Reviewed 26 January 2019

We have just returned home after a very enjoyable 9 nights at the Imperial hotel.

On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady at reception who registered us quickly and efficiently and we were allocated room 302.

The room was clean and spacious with a good view towards Lake Victoria. It had all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.

The wifi was easy to connect to and fast enough for normal use.

The shower was nice and powerful in a fair sized bathroom.

The room was cleaned to a very good standard by very nice staff and the bed linen was changed every day.

The breakfast buffet was very good with some unusual items that we would not normally find in a British breakfast, potato curry and beef stew for instance but they made a very pleasant change and were nice and tasty. Various types of cooked eggs were prepared on request including some great omelettes.

The staff in the restaurant were all very good with a mention to Victor for his kind manner and an alarm call one morning to remind me that breakfast was almost ending!

The fifth floor lounge bar was very welcoming with a good selection of reasonably priced drinks and food particularly the ice cold Tusker lager and samosas, (thanks for the great service Donald).

The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from Kisumu city centre with supermarkets and shops very close by.

There is major renovation work on the hotel going on at the moment and it does produce a fair bit of noise at times but we were out and about for most of the day so it did not bother us too much.

All the staff that we met were very efficient and friendly and seemed genuinely happy to speak to us and help in any way that they could.

We will definitely by using the Imperial again in the future.

Room tip: Higher floors at the front of the hotel have a good view of the Lake

The services of Imperial Hotel is always at its best, room set up is nice and its location is very convenience. What I only need clarification which might be a dislike, is why when you are booked on half board and exceed your limit you pay but when you eat less you are not pay back?

If you compare price and quality, this is poor hotel. No warm water in shower, Wi-Fi in rooms is slow as hell. Also pictures in site are totally different, than in normal life.
Food in restaurant is bad quality.
Don’t ever choose this hotel.

The Management and entire team have taken note of your experience while at Imperial Hotel.

We are really apologetic on the issue of cold water and would like to assure you this was a one off incidence and we shall not allow it to happen again.

We have also noted your experience in the restaurant and as the team leader i will find out what could have gone wrong and rectify the mistake.

Meanwhile i would like to apologize on behalf of the entire team and hope that you will give us another chance to serve you.
