This hotel was an absolute dream come true, one of the most luxurious and precious experiences I have had in my lifetime. Everything from the moment we arrived until we departed was wonderful.

The room we stayed in was HUGE! Much larger than we needed, but was lovely to have the space. Made the experience feel very luxurious. The design and decor in the room, and all of the hotel for that matter, was beautiful and articulate.

We spent a lot of time on the grounds, breathing in the lavender scented air and watching the animals on sight play about (llama's were a massive highlight, as was the little dog they let roam the grounds). There is a restaurant on site, which requires you to take a reservation at either an earlier or later time (only 2 per night). The lovely staff will arrange everything for you.

The food in the restaurant was mouth watering, and the wine... oh my! Just go, that's all I can say! The restaurant is also open during the day, and serves snacks and meals. We had a creamy mushroom pasta and it was to die for. We had the same meal both days we were there!

Everything about this experience oozes relaxation. I have never been more at peace on a holiday, it certainly was a new experience for me. To top it off, there is the option for a massage on site (for an additional fee). The staff at reception will arrange everything for you, just rock up and enjoy the experience.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk into town, but enjoy the stroll.. there is no need to rush in Cayafate.

Be prepared, if you are arriving via bus (as we did) it is a little bit of a walk up the driveway. Have no fear, this is a chance to take in the beautiful views of the mountainous background and vines paving the way.

I thought that the price was very reasonable given the standards of the hotel. Perhaps experience in terms of what is available in South America, but in terms of luxury hotel experiences - making reference to Australian standards - I thought it was an incredible steal!

I have not one thing to fault about this hotel and experience. Do yourself a favour, and treat yourself. You won't regret it!

Room tip: All rooms have an incredible view of the vineyards or beautiful landscape surrounding the hotel.

We had a great stay at Patios de Cafayate. The room was perfect, the ambience in general was hard to fault. It’s a handsome colonial building. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The food and wine were excellent in terms of quality and value. Our only small quibble was the spotty internet but that was a small price to pay for the quality of our stay.

After a day of driving and winery visiting it was awesome to spend the late afternoon lounging in the pool area. The grounds and setting are stunning. Our room too was beautiful—tastefully decorated, spacious and had a really comfortable bed. We noticed some minor wear and tear in the paint, especially in the bathroom that should probably be addressed fairly soon. The reception staff were efficient but we found some of them to be a bit standoffish. Our dinner in the dining room was good but it was weird that we were the only ones there. When we checked in we were told we had to select an early or late seating. We would have preferred something in the middle and clearly this would not have been an issue. Not a big deal, and we had a lovely time, but these little things prevented me giving an excellent rating.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are big, and everything has been decorated with excellent taste.
The service is impeccable and the food is to die for.
The patio area is used to serve lunch, but it is also a good place to relax after riding or trekking the montains.
Great experience.

I’ve been traveling in South America for about two months now, and Patios de Cafayate is my favorite stay so far.

For the incredible experience, the price is a great value. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with big fluffy down pillows. The room is large, with windows overlooking the garden, and a large bathroom (with a clean, comfy tub!).

The location itself is stunning, on one of the best winery properties in town. Do the wine tour, and try the Old Vine wines at the restaurant! Also make sure to attend the free champagne hour in the lobby. There are horses, a friendly dog, and even a llama named Boris on the property.

Finally, the people. The staff is all friendly and helpful. My Spanish is not amazing, and they were more than happy to either explain things in English, or help me practice my conversations and vocabulary. They make a mean mojito.
