The wildlife, the lodge, the staff, our guide (Moss) were all literally the best we have ever come across on any safari. We stayed at little mombo and loved the intimate, family feel of it. We can only hope to come back soon. Thanks to all the staff who made it such a wonderful experience.

Room tip: All rooms are the same and beautiful!

I don't know if we were SO lucky or if Mombo is just truly magical, but we had absolutely incredible game viewing. We were treated to an afternoon of two leopards mating in a baobab tree just 1-2kms from camp. It was the perfect way to end our incredible safari with Wilderness Safaris. Our guide, Olle, was amazing. So knowledgable about the concession, the dynamics between the different animals, and the greater Okavango Delta. The food is amazing. The pizza oven was such a treat! Alfred, the Sommelier, was brilliant. We had so much fun chatting with him and the head chef who came out after every meal. We felt so looked after from start to finish. Thank you to the whole team!! We can't wait to return.

This lodge is just spectacular:
* Mpho, Jess and Caryn made sure that our every need/whim was cared for.
* Alfred, our 5 star sommelier, gave us carefully thought out wines. I thoroughly enjoyed his recommendations and chatting about the different wines. He arranged a food and wine pairing one night that was interesting, loads of fun and delicious.
* Chef for giving us the most delicious meals that we never expected in a remote part of Botswana. Nothing was too much trouble. We had some good laughs. We had to stop ourselves from eating too much!
* The rooms are luxurious and well appointed. In our family room, each room could be closed off. We made use of the Olympus camera and binoculars in our room.
* OB, our guide and fellow birding enthusiast, was great. Seeing a kill right in front of us and completing our birding target of 155 birds in a week will always be remembered.
* The staff happily and willingly cared for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
Mombo certainly deserves its five star Wilderness flagship status.

Our third camp on a 10 day itinerary, 4 days at Mombo. We took a fantastic scenic helicopter ride from Vumbura Plains to Mombo, with incredible views of the delta. Greeted by one of their veteran guides, Doc, we connected immediately. Doc understood right away that game viewing and photography were our priorities. We left every day before dawn with a packed breakfast, and watched game and the sunrise every day, and the sunset out on the drives every evening. Doc has a nose for game, as if he has buttons he can press on the dashboard and make your favorite animal appear ! Leopards with cubs ? Done. Buffalo with calves facing off predators ? Done. Lions hunting warthog ? Yes, and much much more. The density of game at Mombo immediately adjacent to the camp or almost everywhere we went, is just stunning. Even got to see a Scretary Bird hunting ! We were speechless on many occasions. The restaurant and bar staff were incredible, including an up and coming sommelier, Fana (sp ?). The pizza guy made custom treats from his oven for us at every meal. All of them worked hard to make us welcome and well cared for. The rooms are sumptuous, with plenty of modern amenities to go with elegant Safari chic. Lots of charging points for cameras and tablets. Not as many activities as other camps, but this is more than made up for by the incomparable game viewing. The helicopter delivered covid test was efficiently done, and our certificate was ready and waiting at Maun airport for the long flights home. Overall support and service from Wilderness Safaris Ops staff was impeccable. We intend to return as soon as we can. Mombo is a "must do" for any luxury safari itinerary. Outstanding !

Room tip: We enjoyed room 2 near end of boardwalk - excellent game viewing right at room !

Thank you for the amazing review, we are thrilled to see how much you enjoyed your adventures with Doc.

Long known as “the Place of Plenty,” Mombo boasts enormous concentrations of plains game and predators and is considered to be one of the best areas for game viewing in Africa. We hope you will come back soon to create more memories with the team.

Great animal viewing, very attentive staff led by Mma Mpho. She had a cake made to celebrate my birthday. Perfect rooms, delicious food, could not think of anything to improve. Saw lions and red lechwe from my room and watched as elephant visitor shook palm nuts from adjacent tree.
