This is a little gem. Spotlessly clean from top to bottom. Everything you need from a B&B. Breakfasts are very very good and the young lady who prepares them is a star, as are all the girls. Happy staff and lots of laughing (always a good sign). The barman is a lovely bloke too and the landlord is a great host. Don’t be put off by it being a pub as you can go in and out without visiting the bar. The bar is a great traditional pub with friendly locals and top notch food at very reasonable prices. Courtyard at the rear with heaters. Great steak pie, steaks, chilli and seafood. No hassle from anyone and a two minute slow walk to the beach. Ensuite rooms and one with its own separate bathroom are all excellent. Warm clean and little touches. You won’t run out of tea or coffee and bottled water is complimentary. We have stayed a good few tunes and the place never disappoints. Consistent on every level. For the price you will be hard pushed to beat the George.

Very welcoming and helpful hosts who let us leave our bikes there as we walked up and cycled back down the coast. The pub food was lovely, the locals friendly and nice and busy, the beds were comfy, everything was clean, easy going and the breakfast was delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

Me and my fella went to staithes on the 16th of feb and were staying across the road from this pub which the man from our B&B recomended. It was full of locals and a few visitors as its off season but the food was amazing and the landlord and his staff member paul were like a Morecambe and wise tribute. Really welcoming staff and the bar maid Lisa was very accomadating to my picky extras requests for our meal. Overall a great experience and we'll be back soon to try the pie again and actaully do the quiz ❤

My first stay in Staithes was here and it was lovely.

There are 3 rooms above the pub (2 floors up). Sound doesn't travel from the pub which is good.

Room 1 and 3 are ensuite rooms. In between is room 2. This is the room with separate private shower room.

It is such a shame the middle room is not an ensuite.

The shower room is lovely but as it's only got a towel warmer and not a radiator in it's not very warm. The room is big enough to accomodate a bath and with it being in the eaves it would've been a lovely addition.

Bedroom 2 is a lovely large room and could've accomodated a small shower room.

Rooms are very well appointed with quality furnishings.

Single glazed windows make it a bit noisy as it's on the main road.

Breakfast was fantastic quality and quantity. There was no menu so not sure what alternative we could have chosen.

Kitchen staff are remarkably noisy which is directly below room 3.

Staff were very friendly and accomodated our check in and out brilliantly and make you feel welcome. We were able to leave our cases in the breakfast room on the day of check out for a few hours too.

I'd visit again and I'd encourage other's to stay here too.

This is a good local Pub with nicely appointed bedrooms combining a traditional bar and lounge with well decorated and maintained modern accommodation. We stayed 3 nights and had good traditional generous english breakfasts some days and took advantage of lighter alternatives on others. The staff were always helpful and friendly. This is a pub with rooms that does what it does very well. The one downside for some will be the fact you have to drop your luggage off outside then park your car back up the hill in a car park (£6 a day) but if hills are a problem then Staithes probably isn't the place for you!
