“Wonderful Family House”

Took the whole family including a couple of under 4s for a ruby wedding and birthday celebration over a long weekend. On arriving the house certainly had the wow factor and the décor is stunning. All six bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the master en-suite is unbelievably huge. There is ample space to get lost and there were 12 of us so we were not in each others pockets. On Saturday we had the Hungry Mule ( Sam ) outside caterers come in to prepare a dinner party for us. He had cooked at the house before and had no problem finding his way around a very well appointed kitchen. You have to use this guy if you are staying there !. Sunday was just a 7 minute stroll to Mark Hix restaurant overlooking the Cobb/Harbour. It was an exceptional sunny day for October and again the restaurant view and food were stunning ( pricey though ). There was ample car parking space at the house for 8 vehicles and it was only 5 minutes drive to Lyme Regis golf course which proved to be a beautiful course. This house has everything that you could wish for and more. You would definitely not be disappointed if you booked it for a family holiday or gathering. We booked through kate and tom's who were one of the most efficient companies I have ever dealt with.It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and if you are looking for quality then this ticks all the boxes !

“Golden wedding”
Reviewed 18 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We have stayed as a family in several large holiday homes during the past 5 years and this was the most disappointing and most expensive. The house was spacious and bedrooms comfy but when paying £1,000 per day, we expect cleanliness and surroundings of a high standard. The 'welcome hamper' consisted of 4 items of which the chocolates were out of date. The showers needed a good scrub, well inhabated spiderwebs in the lounge, the conservatory windows and sills hadn't seen a cloth for months, dangerous hole in carpark. Owner was very offhand with her reply and no apologies . Be warned. There are much better places available.

Management Response

First complaint we have had for five years, for which we apologised. But, the comments are unfounded. Springfield has 20 man hours of cleaning between each set of guests and is presented to the highest standard. A standard that we personally supervise.

“Perfect fo celebration weekend with friends”

We recently stayed at Springfield for a long weekend in December to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday with some friends. We were a group of 6 couples and the house was perfect for us. We cooked most of our meals in, as the house was so beautiful and took advantage of the lovely log fire and large entertainment areas. The house is very tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you would need. I would describe it as like a private boutique hotel. We found the 2 dishwashing machines very useful.

The master bedroom and bathroom have stunning views of the sea and town, as does the lounge and 3 of the other bedrooms. We were very lucky with the weather and so were able to enjoy a short walk into the town and then along the sea front, stopping off at the local pub on the way back.

It was a perfect winter break and I imagine it would also be a perfect summer break!

“Amazing house for a family get together”

Fantastic property, beautifully decorated and in a great location. We were a group of six adults, four children and a baby and there was more than enough room for eveyone. Bedrooms spacious and the beds extremley comfortable.

The kitchen is superbly equipped with everything you could need to cater for a large group which often isn't the case in self catering properties like this.

Weather wasn't great so took full advantage of the cosy fire in the sitting room in the evenings.

Would highly reccomend the Hungry Mule for dinner party catering too.

We will hopefully have a reason to return again.
