Description: Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow. Our fish is coated in our homemade batter (gluten free options available) and deep-fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.

Good fish and chips lots of choice and not over priced considering Rick could stick a couple of extra pounds on the price and people would still pay it.

We ere very disappointed with the quality. Soggy and discoloured chips as if the oil had not been changed. The portion sizes much smaller now. In previous years it was much better in quality and value but now it is not worth it.

Ate here for lunch over the May bank holiday. We opted to eat in the seated restaurant rather than go for the take-away option.

It is slightly more expensive to eat in that your traditional "chippy", but the food comes in boxes so as not to loose the authenticity and it is really delicious. The hake in particular was a decent size and the fish is not covered in grease as it can be in some fish and chip shops.

The garlic mayo is a good addition as are the mushy peas. Staff were excellent, the table turnover is quite quick without being rushed.

Planned a visit here and been looking forward to it for ages. Didn’t mind the waiting in the rain because had been before and knew what I was going to get....delicious flakey cod with light crispy batter and hot chips....
What I actually got was an overcooked crusty piece of cod!!!
So disappointed as I was back in the car heading home when I discovered it or would have taken it back.
Think you’re great Rick but your food doesnt do your brand much good....
