Our friends and us stayed last year for the New Year package, we had such an amazing time we decided to go again this year. Again we weren't disappointed, Roger and his team have everything well organized and the food was plentiful and tasty. We stayed in room 41 overlooking Bear Island, lovely room very spacious. Had a meal New Year's Day that was also included as part of the package, very nice. Breakfast good and the staff are very accommodating, my friend wanted bacon instead of ham with her eggs Benedict and this was agreed without hesitation, there is plenty of choice also.
Thank you to Roger and his team for making our stay great fun, we will be returning .

My family stayed here for one night in late December. We also had dinner. The hotel was refurbished a couple of years ago and it shows. All three rooms were very clean and comfortable. At £60 B&B per room, this represents great value. We had a wide choice at breakfast and the food was good. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the food we had the night before. There are probably better places to eat in Hungerford.

The only real complaint we had was about the heat in the bar and eating areas. It was a mild night and there was not much need for there to be any heating on. But it must have been in the high 20s inside. I was told that the heating system was one of the few things that could not be upgraded. It is either on or off. No thermostat.

Hungerford - a hidden gem especially around Christmas time with the lovely lights through the centre.

The bear b&b
Room - fantastic room and fantastic character, comfortable bed, clean and great for couples to get away and relax.
Staff - very friendly and helpful
Food - a range to select from, fast service and tasty
Breakfast - cooked fresh when ordered, small portions though
Overall - well worth a visit and hard to fault

Many thanks for a lovely stay

We stopped off in Hungerford to break a journey and were very pleased we had chosen the Bear. It is a very nice hotel and both the receptionist and our waitress at dinner were very pleasant and welcoming and took good care of us. There was lots of parking and it was only a couple of minutes to walk to the high street. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a magical couple of days at the Bear, from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. First of all, the staff are amazing, - so hard working and nothing is too much trouble. Every one was friendly and super welcoming and created a fun and festive spirit all round. The food was spot on in every respect, well thought out menus, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. (Well, the empty plates spoke for themselves!). We began with a welcome drinks reception so that all the guests and staff could get to know one another; and then throughout there was time for rest and exploring the very pretty area, plus really fun musical quizzes in the bar in the evening for those who wanted to join in. We have never been away from home for Christmas before and this felt like home from home and we were thoroughly spoilt and looked after. Thank you to Roger and all your fabulous team. We will definitely be back in 2016!!!
