“What a charming place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

We stayed only one night but wished we had stayed a few more. Nerja is charming and the parador was lovely. We booked a twin with a view and I strongly recommend spending the extra money for the view - it was stunning. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. It was an easy walk into town. We can't wait to come back!!

We stayed here in late March and since this was our 4th visit you can guess that we rate the Parador very highly.

The highlight of our day is the relaxing breakfast on the terrace - no rush, you can breakfast until 11 am - wonderful view and an excellent buffet. I have to agree with comments regarding the 'hot' items, particularly the fried eggs which can stand around for three quarters of an hour, getting colder all the time. On the days that I saw the next batch of eggs arrive, I had one; if I didn't know how long they had been out I gave them a miss. This has been commented on for some time so obviously the management don't read the reviews or just don't care. A pity!

Our room was just as we remember it from the past. And I mean that - it's many years since we first came and I don't think there has been a refurb in some time. To be honest the room was very comfortable, if dated, with all we could want and the bonus of a great balcony with that wonderful coastal view. I was however disappointed with the bathroom - cracked floor tiles and a general tiredness. Refurb needed.

Apart from breakfast we didn't eat in, the meal prices can be beaten at a multitude of places within reasonable walking distance outside. Even the set daily menu at €33 was riddled with supplements. Set against this the staff, as ever, were great - always in the background but polite and ready to help or advise if asked. Also free WiFi which can save a lot of internet roaming charges.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return but looking forward to one or two little tweaks before then to bring things from my 4 out of 5 rating back up to 5 out of 5.

We've just come back after spending just one night at this lovely Parador in Nerja - wish we had stayed longer. It is in a fabulous location overlooking the Med and just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Nerja. It is very well sign posted from the A7 motorway. We had breakfast at the Parador, sitting outside in the sun which was lovely. We had a gorgeous room overlooking the pool and the sea. Our daughter slept on the sofa bed in the room, and said it was the most comfortable sofa bed she has slept on in a hotel room. The staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully we will re-visit this Parador in the future.

We really enjoyed our 4night stay in the parador. It is wonderfully situated on the cliff-top between the centre of Nerja and the Burriana beach. The views are splendid and it was delightful to sit in the spacious and well tended grounds overlooking the sea. It was about 10 mins stroll to the Balcon de Europa though there were several cafes and bars very close. The rooms are spacious and very clean though definately ready for refurbishment. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, though as a regular visitor to paradors I am yet to understand why they think it a good idea to put lukewarm fried eggs on the buffet. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful. We have been visiting Nerja on and off for 25 years staying in various hotels and apartments, but it is the parador forums from now on.

Stayed here for one night following a very early (4 am) start to a week in Spain - our daughter had suggested that rather than cope with Granada immediately, we should simply head to Nerja from malaga airport and 'chill out', as she put it, for a day. Great advice! My husband booked this and got an excellent rate on booking.com (I think) and when we arrived, we were delighted to be upgraded to a sea-view room complete with big balcony. Perfetto!

The grounds are beautifully kept, and one can descend to the beach by lift for a pleasant walk along the walkway. In the other direction it's about a 10 minute (for slow walkers like me) to the centre and the Balcon de Europe. There are dozens of restaurants to choose from if you don't want to stay in the hotel all the time.

After a very good night's sleep we had an excellent breakfast on the terrace overlooking th sea. There was an amazing choice of hot and cold dishes - something for everyone and then some! It's mostly buffet style and you can have as much or as little as you want, and you won't be hurried on at all. We were quite reluctant to give up.....

I would definitely go back to this hotel for a relaxing stay.
