I've never seen a menu so extensive as the one at Verona.
478 dishes of Italian Mexican and Indian cuisine.
And that I think is the attraction and also it's downfall
Going for such an extensive menu veers towards the thoughts of jack of all trades and masters of none
It was nice to be able to choose and mix and match from the different cuisines
For starters I went for Garlic bread and my fellow diner went for spicy poppadoms. Both were not bad, but strictly average. Nothing to really get you talking about
The mains were completely different. I went for the vegetarian fajitas and my companion for the swordfish and chips
We both agreed these were one of the foodie highlights of the holiday
Filling flavoursome and 5 stars - something We'd both have again
So that is the problem - 3 star starters and 5 star mains - and whilst I would go back again with 478 dishes you just feel it could be luck of the draw as to which dishes excel
Sometimes less is more
