“Parents had a lovely stay here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2012

I am reviewing this hotel on behalf of my parents (Rob and Marg who were with Phil and Kath) who haven't a computer but wanted to review the hotel! So...firstly, they wanted to congratulate the four singers Dolly, Gill, Joe and Henry who have worked so hard with their performances. They were professional and very friendly. They helped put an extra sparkle into their holiday!
The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. The pool was HEATED-my dad loved swimming in it everyday. Also, the food was good and varied-something for everyone. The only one down-side was greasy bacon and poor sausages at breakfast-but that's it.
One tip when travelling about is to use the local trains as they are cheap and very reliable.
Weather in the past two weeks has been 16C in the mornings and early 20s in afternoon.
They have stayed in this hotel before and will definitely return.

Just returned from the Yaramar Hotel and can only describe it as PERFECT from the moment we arrived to the day we left. Reception fastest check in ever and there was a full bus load of us. Excellent room on the 6th floor with magnificent sea views watching the sunrise every morning you could not beat it. Room very spacious and modern with all the little extras. Food was very good lots of choice and champagne for breakfast every morning what more could you ask for. The staff were very helpful and so were the Thompson reps. The entertainment was good but could of been better but we did go out a couple of nights. There were alot of older people there but no children as everything is geared up for adults so we had very peaceful days lying by the pool which was just great. The weather was fantastic for the time of year very warm and sunshine and blue skies all week. This hotel deserves its 4 star rating and we will certainly be back in the future.

Room Tip: Higher rooms best for views and sea rooms best for the early morning sun

We (my husband and i) returned yesterday from 2 wks holiday at The Yaramar, we had a brilliant time. Weather good for time of year, a very clean resort except for dogs mess occasionally on pavements although the council are working very hard on this.|Staff friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble for them and for elderly people (a lot there in winter) this really means a lot to them. Rooms cleaned thoroughly & items topped up regularly, ample pool towels available. Tea & coffee making facilities in room really add to the hol. Reps on site most of the time, free blanket tripe available with no pressure to buy. Miles of beach to choose from. Beware! when walking along the far right end of Fuengirola TIME SHARE touts, just say 'no' to supposedly winning scratch cards......
We ate too much in the hotel as there was so much choice. Did'nt worry too much about the entertainment although the sound travelled up to the 15th floorbut it finished at 11pm on the dot.
Had a really relaxing & comforting holiday, swimming in the pool most days & did lots of walking. WE WILL BE BACK YARAMAR.

Room Tip: Sea views have sun morning only, but cooler at night.High floor has lovely view.

wevisitor we have stayed at the YAramar in january since the hotel first opened and eagerly iooked forward to our return visit. The hotel looks very tired and needs total refurbishment. The hotel is very clean and the hotel staff friendly and helpful .The food although still good is sometimes cold. The entertainment is provided by the Thomson Gold entertainment team ,these entertains did their best but they lacked talent ,with the exception of the lovely Gill. The daytime entertainment was ok if you liked throwing hoops or bean bags .
Thomson need to rebrand the Yaramar which still has so much going for it.

Room Tip: Choose a pool view room gets sun most of the day and the views are stunning.

This hotel is on the promenade across the road from a beautiful sandy beach and is a modern 15 storey building with atrium and glass lifts up the centre, The rooms are fairly spacious with tea and coffee facilities, free safe, small fridge for hire and a small tv with plenty of English channels and pay tv for films. The bathroom is fitted with bath(shower over) wc,washbasin and bidet. Both rooms have a small radiator which never exceeds tepid so rooms can be quite cold in winter and the decor has a tired look about it,.The buffet style restauranf has ample selection and is staffed by a very friendly workforce. The food quality can be questioned as I found much food overcooked and not particularly hot, a micro wave is on hand for reheating however. The problem with the food was not helped by the extended meal times(dinner 17.30 -21.30) and few people staying. There are 3 bars but again owing to limited guests management decided to close the underground show lounge so all entertaiment was in the ground floor patio bar which despite patio heaters was very cold.Another problem with this situation means that there is nowhere to go for a quiet drink and even in your room you cannot get away from the music, most of which was provided by the Thomson hosts and very amdram and far too loud. I sometimes think Thomson does not know its clientelle because a show called" disco inferno" hardly seems appropriate to guests whose average age was 70 plus. Outside there is a nice pool and sunbed area but being on 1St floor can be windy and the heated pool was always very cold.Indoors the is a gym, steam room and jacussi.Despite its short comings it is still a good hotel and worth a visit.

Room Tip: In winter choose pool viev rooms to benefit from afternoon sun.
