Very pleasant stay, in small but very comfortable single room. Helpful staff and excellent breakfast, with fresh fruit and good coffee. Wifi consistently excellent. Very central location in Cazorla...

We stayed 2 night in this lovely town on the side of the sierra with a views over the extensive olive orchards below and the mountain peaks above. The Hotel Guadalquivir is a great family owned and run lodging serving you a super breakfast with a smile. While we don't speak Spanish, the owners were effective in telling us about things to see and do and provided maps to sites and restaurants. The village is know for a high quality olive oil and for restaurants with local foods including wild game. This is a place we hope to return to for hiking and leisure.

I do not understand the notes for this hotel. We trusted booking / TripAdvisor when we booked this one. And god were we wrong.

Let's start with the positive: the staff is nice and helpful. The breakfast is decent. The room was quite big and the hotel is really clean. The bathroom was also well organized.

For the rest :
Air conditionning does not work. We had to sleep with the windows opened. But welcome to Spain, people shout in the streets until 2am every Day.

The bed is really small (width and depth). I am 183cm tall and have my feet out of the bed.

The plumbing of the above floors goes through your bedroom instead of the bathroom so if you have someone taking a one hour long shower at 11:30pm you wont be able to sleep. And you might be awoken at early hours as well.

Sound proofing, room door only blocks the light, you hear everything happening in the staircase.

My guess would be that this is the perfect hotel if you are small, do not care about warmth or noise.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in September using it as a base for walking and exploring the area. The room and facilities are all good but what really makes this a fantastic place to stay is the family who run it.
The owner, Don Pedro, is a delight. He doesn't speak a lot of English but always goes out of his way to be friendly and help with anything, and when he realised that I didn't mind attempting simple conversations in Spanish he was fantastic - making an effort to strike up a small conversation each time we saw him and speaking slowly for me! He and his daughters also gave us lots of useful info on the what to do in Cazorla, restaurant recommendations, and also info on the other towns in the area.
One thing to bear in mind - the hotel is located on a small pedestrianised street on a steep hill - leave your car at the bottom of it for unloading your baggage. There's a decent underground carpark in the square at the bottom of the street, the hotel will give you a card which gives you a discount at the carpark.
All in all we loved this place.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as we came to Cazorla to hike. The family that run this hotel have gone out of their way to help us and we now feel like family. We had fabulous weather and the hiking was amazing, but our memories will always be of the kindness they have shown us.

The room was spacious and will equipped for clothes. The bathroom and bed excellent. The hotel is environmentally run. The breakfasts more than ample. Location excellent and quiet.

Highly recommend staying here
