This Parador is something dreams are made of. Now I am older and do not dream as I once did, I still find it magical. It is outrageously expensive but the quality is high, and even though it seems to have suffered the belt tightening many paradores have seen, I think it is still the best.
The only thing which might lose it the top spot is the strange staffing which can leave the cocktail bar unattended at the busiest time,- just before dinner- with others wandering around in a leisurely fashion. Maybe the management is trying to impose a cultural change, but @ €10 for a gin and tonic, they must guard against letting things slip. When we stayed, we had to wait so long to be served that we decided to eat elsewhere, and that cannot be good for business!More
