A unique experience staying in a former convent. I kept imaging what it would have been like to be a resident in this place when it was a convent. I found it a little creepy, but interesting. The bedroom was a little small, but then there was a separate sitting room (this was a nun's apartment, but was it for 1 or 2?) where it was easy to stage our bags. The bathroom shower was a little small, but definitely was adequate and functional. Roosters in the morning started at 4:30am (we had a room facing the entrance) and someone kept hitting their snooze alarm--they were relentless! Overall, I'd say I was satisfied with our 1 night stay, but probably wouldn't have wanted an extended stay.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms face the rear grounds of the complex.

Stayed 4 nights with a family in two connected double rooms. Located few kilometers from the attractive town of Antequera in a relaxing natural surrounding. Interesting building, a former monastery. Room was fine, with direct access to a nice garden. Very good breakfast, excellent choice. Dinner was also good, choice for vegetarians is somewhat limited, service is a bit slow, but very friendly. Pool area is well maintained, it is not very big, but for some reason was not actively used and we had it for ourselves. Overall, much recommended.

We stayed with our adult daughter for 3 nights in March, weather was OK, so didn't need air con or heating. We were given 2 bedrooms with a shared lounge area which was really nice. Breakfast was excellent, mainly continental with wide selection, but will cook to order. We ate there one night at the bar and had drinks, pricing was very good. The hotel is remote and peaceful with good facilities, if you want to travel the region it is a reasonable base but be mindful that some roads can be a bit rough.

Only complaint was the music that kicked in at 9am and ran to the late evening, it isn't needed and adds nothing.

Scenery is stunning

What a disappointment this hotel was. It is listed as a 5 star hotel and it is most definitely not. The room we were given was ok. The shower had seen better days and was difficult to operate. The decor was tired looking and it seems that some investment is needed. The duvet on the bed did not have a cover on it. It was between two sheets.
We were booked in for half board and there were no clear suggestions of what we were able to eat for our evening meal or what we could order off the menu. The food we chose and served was disgusting. We never got our desserts as they were too busy serving 3 large tables who arrived. The dining area was cold and draughty and this was made worse by a diner opening an outside door we presume so that they could smoke indoors. Breakfast was not better. There was also a lack of bar staff to serve us when we arrived at the hotel. I am unable to comment on the spa as we did not choose to use it. I really cannot recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I would not go to this hotel

Booked with British Airways to stay in a standard double at this establishment for the two nights of the 12th and 13th of March 2017. Upon arrival we were given the keys to room 101.When opening the door and finding a light switch, a must given this room has no windows, we climbed two flights of stairs to the creepiest bedroom we have ever experienced in over 55 years of travelling the globe. 'The hotel is full' we were informed and as we had already pre-paid were transferred to their sister four star hotel down in the town which is a very basic coaching stop over. Unless you want to experience what life in an air less coffin must be like DO NOT even enter room 101.
How we would have got our heavy suitcases up into this strange medieval loft will always allude us, and my wife is a very fit person.
Willy Dunn. England.

Room Tip: Anything but 101.
