What a view. Such a great spot to just breath the fresh air and take it all in. A Must do when in Nazare !
The view into the village and the beach are especially beautiful at sun-rise and sunset. It really is a "must" when visiting Nazaré. Going down to the village with the funicular is also a peculiar sensation.
Visited this spot many times ,the views are spectacular and the quaint shops and cafes ,the church is well worth a visit
The reason for only two stars ,over the last 12 months there's been an influx of tuk tuks ,eventually they will overtake the area as every other tourist spot ,the car park on top of the hill has an 'illegal' worker who directs you to a parking space he expects a tip from you for this ,you don't have to tip him but what's the chance he damages your car ! They sorts of people are all over portugal and the gnr should clamp down on them ,lastly the toilets by the sweet sellers has a lady standing at the entrance and demands payment for you to use ,this again is illegal ,there are free toilets to use near the varnicular railway ,don't be scammed ,lets hope the local municipal clamp down on the problems
Here you can get a panoramic view of Nazaré, beaches of both sides, "Forte de São Miguel" and the village below.
This Miradouro offers scenic views of the expansive beach of Nazaré, it has a nice plaza and good vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. You can take a tram down to the beach at Nazaré from here or just find a nice restaurant for a good fish lunch. The Ermida da Memoria is also here and the local vendor has the best peanut cookies you can buy anywhere, also great doughnuts can be bought right by the wall of the Miradouro , if you see the vendor by the wall that sell cookies buy them.
I had some difficulties to find the way to the lighthouse and the castle, but it was really worth.
You go through an old village situated on the top of the big rock, then turn to teh lighthouse, by a narrow way.
The view from the roof with the lighthouse is tremendous, even on a calm day (I was there on such a day, with sun all over he landscape). For people fond of surfing, a small museum is inside.
We have been to the Sitio so many times, it never gets old! The view is fantastic, exploring the little shops is good fun and the historical buildings are all worth a visit. Plenty of cafes around the square. Parking a bit difficult during the holidays, but if one drives past the sitio towards the Lighthouse of Nazare, there are parking spots near the cliff. If visiting Nazare and the Miradouro, don't miss the walk to the Lighthouse!
This is a large Mirador with excellent views of Nazare below. There is a very small church at the entrance where you take a few steps down to a very tiny chapel for prayers and offerings. Outside, is where all the tourists gather to take pictures and videos. The views are breathtaking and its nice just to stand there and admire the beauty of nature.
We Had a nice Last Evening in this Restaurant in the Middle of the City Center. The food was delishes, the Service was good and we entjoyed staying There. If You are looking for a cozy smal Portugiese Restaurant, its note the place on the Main Plaza.
It's the busier of the miradouros and for good reasons as it's hard to beat the view here. Don't miss out on the chapel!
Really calm and beautiful place to see the view. I went a little bit after the sunset and it was just magical.
