First of all, if you think about coming to Mazurska Chata without a vehicle, you should stop reading this review and check some other places. This hotel is actually located in the fields far from the center of Mikołajki. The spiral rural road is not lamplit, so going to the town and back in the evening could be quite and adventure itself. And lengthy one. Not advisable, so otherwise you’re spending money on taxis and raise your accommodation costs.

The building is quite new and the outside wooden architecture is tasteful. However inside the ambience is quickly lost - shiny floors and dominating white colour is not what you expect looking from the outside. The room itself was nothing fancy, but OK for us as we didn’t spend much time on the property and just needed a place to sleep and eat. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and spacious enough. There’s a hair dryer for your convenience.

Now we’ve come to the meals… It was the worst part of our stay. Breakfasts are average at best. Breakfast selection on our second morning included inter alia leftovers from the part held at the hotel on previous night (marinated herring with onion looked like a joke for us – come on!). The dinners were at fixed times and on one day due to the above mentioned party dinner was moved to quite unconvenient hour. There was no choice of meals – we just got a soup and a main dish. Nothing tasteful – we called it meals from an old canteen.

Staff was average, still learning.

All in all, I do not recommend this place: too far away from the center, mediocre meals. Just not worth the prices they quote on their website (we had a discount coupon). And we stayed in low season – note that prices rise dramatically in July and August, main tourist season in Mazurian Lakes region.

BIt of a mixed bag but mostly good. Hotel rooms are small and squishy, but very modern, new and very clean. Breakfast was great, staff did not speak good english though but young man at desk tried very hard to help as best he could. Owner could care more of our issues. Wifi was good as useless, started to work in morning after my complaints then stopped again. Very frustrating to do work. Also TV was no good, fuzzy screen and volume didn't work. Overall, mixed feelings. OH and beds were good. Oh and fitness centre was under lock and key and hard to get access for a very basic gym .Bench press with no weights to put on it lol
