Kitty Kelly’s was recommended by the owner of the place we were staying. Well I was absolutely in seafood heaven. From the moment of arriving the service was spot on. Such friendly efficient service, and the food was devine.

We were with our friends and we all were impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. Crab three ways for entree wow wow wow. Home baked bread to start with was a really nice touch. Each course was well presented, perfect size and melted in your mouth. The prices were also not too expensive for the quality. If you are in the area go have dinner. Make sure you book because I’d imagine with the quality of food it would get booked out quickly.

We were on a grandparents tour. My granddaughter Amelia other grandparents invited us to their ancestors roots. We had a fantastic time in the fishing village of killybegs population 1290. We were recommended to eat in Kitty Kelly for our dinner.

The restaurant is in pink and parking was easy. Donna, part of the wife and husband team that owns the restaurant greeted us and the warm fireplace, her infectious smiles and character really made us feel at ease with her Irish charm. We met husband and chef Remy, Bordeaux trained Frenchman who speak like a local. In uk, all frenchies speak English with a French accent but he sounded as Irish as Guinness stout.

Our starters of crab claws, pate and cake, prawn gratin, belly of pork tasted and melted in our mouths were presented very like in a French bistro. The cordon bleu presentation was very evident in terms of sauces and mood.

our mains were excellent, the catch of the day halibut, pan fried and moist and fresh, the steak succulent and the seafood platter plenty, fresh and tasty.

Try the trio secret dessert surprise and you will love it.

What makes the food here so special?.. It is because of Donna. the food we love but it was her charm and her hospitality we loved more. The Irish coffee came and came and came.. we were joined to raise our spirit by an American photographer Maryella and we had more Baileys and Irish coffee.

Will we come back... definitely,
Would we recommend to tripadvisors fellow restaurant goers. 100%

Visited on a cold, wet & windy Saturday night in February.
Quite a remote location but, close to a "main" road and plenty of parking space.
The restaurant had only recently re-opened and we understand it has recently changed hands.
Entry to the restaurant is via a very nicley appointed bar/waiting area with plenty of seating. The bar was very well stocked. We perused the menus here over a drink before being shown to our table, which was upstairs.
The restaurant is split into several areas, making use of what were obviously separate rooms of the original building. This gave it a nice cosy feel. The decor was fresh and finished in pleasing pastel colours.
The menu choice was good without being too wide'ranging, with a balanced selection of starters, mains and deserts.

The staff were mostly very young, well mannered and attentive.

There were four of us and we ordered from across the menu. All of the food was cooked to an extremely high standard and very well presented.
The duck and venison my wife and I had were cooked to perfection. Our friends' dishes looked fabulous too but, I didn't stretch to pinching any of it!
None of us managed desert, as the starter and main portions were all ample.

We were really taken by surprise by how good this place was, given it's remote location and reasonable prices.

Highly recommended!

We were staying in killybegs, but had a meeting In Glencolmcille which ended later than we thought, we had booked but hadn’t time to go back to our hotel and change, we were very casually dressed, but that was no problem and we were given the warmest of welcomes.
The restaurant is a lovely place, beautifully decorated and really warm ambience thanks to very attentive staff.
Our food was incredible, I had a wonderful starter of monkfish and prawn, himself crab three ways. For mains I had a beautifully cooked hake and himself steak, everything we were served with was excellent.
We’ve promised ourselves when we return we will put our gladrags on and have a special night out....

Once again we had lovely dining experience in Kitty Kellys. On arrival the staff were attentive and extremely friendly. The menu was not too large with just the right amount of choices. The meals of all our party of four were excellent.
