We were only able to spend one night in Lookout Cottage which was unfortunate - this was due to OUR scheduling issues. This is a 2 story, small but very romantic cottage. Very clean and nicely appointed. Layout is a tad strange but it is a cottage after all! Quiet, wooded view off the back deck. All of this said, we would find the normal rate out of our price range, especially for this cottage. We were able to get a 50% rate because of a current special - which was far more palatable for a couple with one retiree!!!! Easy walking to The Crescent. Only improvement I could suggest would be that The Crescent offer room service to the cottage. Nice gas fireplace, Jacuzzi tub and couples shower. Installed speakers so music can be heard throughout (they have a stereo), nice flat screen tv as well.

Room Tip: Not for you if you have trouble dealing with stairs.

Checked into lookout cottage @ 1886 crescent hotel & spa. The cottage is cute, quaint and perfect for a couple. Only a few negatives was the gas fireplace was broke and deck and outside table and chairs could've been swept and wiped off. Other than some general maintenance needed, overall the cottage and hotel is full of character. Drew, a bellman, was helpful, friendly, professional and always went out of his way to accommodate us. He's a definite asset to the Crescent!

Thank you Cindy. We were absent owners for a few years while the Crescent managed our property. We have recently returned and have upgraded several of our accommodations including the grounds. We would love to host you again.

When we looked into staying at the 1886 Crescent Hotel, we thought staying in one of the Lookout Cottages on the property would be a great idea, and the Suite Alice looked so cute.

The hotel and cottages are a little out of the way, but the hotel offers a free shuttle down into the town.

The cottage was cute on entry, but there was an overwhelming smell of bleach and cleaning products, so we had to air the place for an hour before we could enjoy the place. It was a sweet cottage, but the lounge area was very small.

Coming back from an evening of dinner at the Sky Bar (fabulous views), and the ghost tour (great fun and informative), we found ourselves locked out of the cottage with our key not working, which ended up with us having to wait around for 30 minutes or so waiting for a new key to be cut, which wasn't the best way to end the evening.

Breakfast was delicious, and service was great.

Thank you for your response. We were absent owners for a couple of years but have recently returned to manage the property. Although our guests still have access to the Crescent amenities we've upgraded the easy check in procedures where no more keys. Your access is by a 4 digit code. Try us again!

It would have had a working hot tub. The property is probably the most modern out of all the lookout cottages. It's clean, has a small kitchen, and a king-sized bed. The t.v. Is on the farthest wall from the bed and is not as easy to see. It only has a shower, but also has the hot tub on the deck. My husband and I were looking forward to lounging in it after dinner, but the hot tub water temperature was only lukewarm and never got fixed during our stay. If it would have worked, it would have been much nicer. Because of the hot tub, we moved across the street and stayed our third night in "The Anchoage." That move was a huge mistake.

Stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding and had a wonderful stay. The amenities were generous (hot tub + full kitchen + grill + decks?!) and the cottage was very clean and new. The two levels of separate spaces is a great perk as well. We enjoyed keeping the windows/doors open to let in the great breezes and spending hours on the deck with the grill and hot tub. The area itself was entertaining and we looked forward to our returns each day. Recommended stay!
