The Lodge was nice and peaceful , Cleanest pool I've seen

Review of The Lodge

We recently stayed here during our 20th Anniversary . We stayed in room 424 Jucuzzi Suite.
Very nice updated room with the a two people jucuzzi . pool right outside the door backdropped by nature. Deer come right up to the hotel to feed. (just dont jump up and yell deer, they tend to leave). The owners are Americans with big hearts. two thumbs up!

Room Tip: they have 3-4 jucuzzi rooms, best deal in town room 424 is our fave

The Lodge is a great value in a great location. The owners are very friendly and helpful with shopping, dining and recommending area attractions. The room was clean and comfortable with a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee pot. Only complaint/concern is that all rooms open to the outdoors (motel style), but that proved to be no problem from a noise and security perspective. It's a nice place and I would stay there again.

This was our second stay at The Lodge. Paul an Kim were just as friendly and helpful as the first visit. The rooms are very clean and an excellent value. A great stay but there is a little more to tell. My wonderful wife did the packing for our trip while I was at work and forgot to pack my favorite belt for my shorts. All I had was my dress belt and given I have dropped a few pounds lately it would not hold up my shorts. In an effort to protect the fine folks of Eureka Springs from a sight no one wanted to see I went into the office and inquired to Paul, "by chance do you have a drill". I saw in his eyes visions of a trashed room or some other major problem but he said without saying a word, yes, yes I do. I pulled my belt out and explained my problem and he just smiled and said, that's a request I never had before. Off he went and came back with a drill and bits. We stretched the belt tight right in the lobby and drilled two new holes. Vacation saved.
We will be coming back next time in Eureka.

Room tip: The rooms on the front are at street level. The rooms in the rear involve steps.

We stayed at The Lodge for three nights while on a motorcycle run. If you are a hotel snob - go somewhere else. There is nothing fancy about the place. What you WILL find are comfortable, CLEAN rooms at an affordable price. The owners are the nicest people you would ever want to me who really care about their property and their guests. They allowed us to park the bikes right under the car port for the entire stay, gave us great information about the trolley and asked us about our day each time we returned back. The back side of the hotel is more desirable, as it is quieter and more secluded, although if you have mobility problems, the front would be better as you need to navigate several sets of stairs if staying in the back. The owners have several "pet" deer that come to visit the feeder throughout the day - that was nice. The only down side to the room would be limited lighting. Another lamp in each room would be a good thing. All in all, I think we will stay there the next time we go down to ride the Pigs Trail.

Room tip: The back side of the hotel is more desirable, as it is quieter and more secluded, although if you have mobility problems, the front would be better as you need to navigate several sets of stairs if staying in the back.

We booked this hotel based on two factors: a) tripadvisor hype, and b) the price. The price was as advertised. Everything else? Not quite. Don't get me wrong, there wasn't anything particularly bad about the stay, but it was pretty average by any usual hotel standard.

We had the room right next door to the front desk, which was very undesirable. There was little to no privacy whatsoever. The rooms on the back of the building were very peaceful looking and secluded. The pool area was a little more appealing from afar, but the water was very clean, there was comfortable furniture, and it was very secluded. A total lack of breakfast, not even fruit or muffins, is a little disappointing.

The room itself was average. The decor is nice, which somewhat distracts you from realizing that it is still an old hotel room that has seen very little updating in the last couple of decades. A total lack of baseboard or even vinyl trim around the floor leaves the walls looking shabby. The furniture is old, particularly the tables and recliners. The bedding is comfortable, although we were a little put-off at finding a live tick in our bed when we turned the covers down. There is a fridge and microwave, which is nice.

All in all, it was what I expected for $70 a night. If my itinerary and budget allowed it, I would always opt for one of the historic hotels in town, but if I'm staying out on the business loop again, this is a place I would probably give another shot.

Room tip: Rooms on the back side of the building are preferable.
