My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to get here, the pictures and the description on booking promised that it would be an amazing stay at the anzan.
So we took the boat from Panajachel to San Marcos. It was a little bit tricky, although Dita, the owner and host of the house, send us perfect directions how to get here by boat, we were confused when we saw the sign Casa Rosa. But the Anzan house is not the casa rosa but the casa rosaDa just one stop AFTER the dock of Tsununa.
When we arrived we were nicely received by Miguel, a very gentle and supportive person always helping with everything in and around the house.
He showed us the room and we were totally amazed. It was exactly as it appeared in the photos with the big difference that it’s even better!!! Really: we couldn’t believe the beauty. The room is huge, clean, modern, stylish and from the king size bed you can directly look to the volcanoes.
The bathroom was the next highlight. It was really big, too and offered a French bath tub from where you can enjoy the view of the lake and the Volcanoes San Pedro and Santiago...
The best things to do here: relaxing and sunbathing on the balcony, reading in the Mexican hammock inside the room or taking long baths enjoying the sunset. The first night I woke up at 5:00am just watching the stars and counting the shooting stars lying in the bed.
Dita, the owner, she is fantastic! She did everything she could to make our stay perfect, as she is very attentive, supportive and really really nice. I am sure she was happy to see us being so happy about the entire stay, that is really adorable about here. She bakes wonderful bread, too.
The breakfast and dinner was very tasteful and fresh!!
Well, I could continue to write about the Airbnb forever but to end this article the only thing that is left to say: everything was perfect and beautiful! Thank you, Dita for being a great host. And to all the future guests: enjoy your stay here. You will love it.
Ps: There is a manual in each room ( in total three rooms) with great recommendations to restaurants and hikes. we did the hike to Jaibalito and it was great!! Bring water ;-)
Ps2: Her dogs are super cute!
Literally a stay of a lifetime. The tranquil serenity, the majestic landscape, the international multitude of tree, plant and flower varieties, the hand crafted contemporary minimalist furnishings that the host designed, the Feng shui, airy, natural light imbued architecture (which the host also designed) infused us with peace, relaxation, creativity and love. We can't wait to return to our newfound nirvana.
You can not beat the tranquility, the view, and the hospitality! We had a wonderful stay, it was very quiet, and we would definitely come back. Easy access to San Marcos and other lake-side towns, kayaks and hiking trails to explore. The bedroom was large and very tastefully decorated, and we had access to a private rooftop terrace. Highly recommended!
We stayed for a week at Anzan Atitlan and loved every minute. There is so much to do and see - every day presents a new adventure. Hike a volcano, take a water taxi into one of the villages, jump off the diving platform in San Marcos, kayak Lake Atitlan.
The accommodations are beautiful and simple at the same time. Our hosts planned transportation, cultural immersion and meals. There is little worry and much relaxation on the shores of this ancient lake. See for yourself!
True Paradise! Best location on the lake! Exceptional accommodations and brilliantly ran! I would highly recommend! I'm curating my own retreat to take folks there now!
