“Best Choice In Williams”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

Decided to stay here after debating between this and the other choices in Williams and upon arriving in town I was happy with our selection. It sits on a hill outside of town set back from old route 66 and has a lodge feel to it. We booked a very comfortable king room for two nights and were very happy with it. Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, ceareal, juices, coffee, fruit and yougurt. Williams is a little town that capitalizes on it's location along route 66 but it is a reminicent of small towns of the 50s & 60s... and it was an enjoyable place to visit on our way to the Grand Canyon. The other hotels in the area - in my opinion- with the exception of the Days Inn and Comfort Inn- look to be remodled small motels from earlier years.

Located amidst a pine forest just off historic Route 66, this BW Plus is a cut above the rest. My only complaint is the bed seemed less comfortable than the other BW Pluses we've stayed in, but my wife disagrees. The room was large, clean and well-equipped. The hot breakfast was the best we've had. They even had real dishes and cutlery - not plastic! The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We got the King size bed and that room was plenty big. We even had enough space to set up our sons play pin and wasnt packed in there. The bathroom on the other hand was way too small the door was just an inch or two from touching the toilet. Bad idea on building it that small. There was no microwave in the room but they did have 1 availabe in another area we could have used. The bed was a little to stiff for me. Besides that I would recommed this place to anyone. It was definately a clean hotel and looked like one of the best in Williams. It was tucked away off the road which was a plus as well. Good breackfast and the pool was a perfect termperature for it being April.

We staggered into this hotel after a long day driving from Vegas via the Hoover Dam, choosing it purely because it was the first off the I-40. It was super, mainly because the staff were so friendly and helpful.

The room was large, with a comfortable bed (I don't understand the review about the bad mattress - it must be the only one in the hotel), a coffee maker and a fridge. It overlooked the pool but there was no noise and the windows had blackout blinds.

We arrived back from the Grand Canyon late one night and thought we were in time for the Steakhouse restaurant because the hotel sign outside said it was open until 10pm. In fact that was the summer opening time and the restaurant closed at 9pm. It was 9.15pm. The server offered to see what could be done and then the manager apologised for the misleading sign and said she would see if something could be organised for us. It could. The chef came out and said no problem, order what you like. We did and it was excellent. (The sign had clearly been there since last summer though...)

We overheard a waiter mention s'mores and asked what they were. He explained and a little later Chef came out and said if we wanted to taste one we should follow him to the fire pit. He roasted some marshmallows and made us one - how nice is that? The firepit is a great place to sit in the evening.

There was a cowboy singer in the lounge area both evenings we were there, which created a good atmosphere.

There is a small office where you can print off boarding passes and you can buy stamps at reception - even for the UK.

The only negative comment I have - and it seems to be true of a lot of US hotels in this area - is the dull decor. It was the usual brown and mushroom mix, but the open architecture helped to lighten it up.

Overall we felt very well looked after.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here. We love the spa, and the atmoshpere. This is a great hotel. So many things to offer. Last time we were here the water smelled alittle funny, but that was a city water issue. I believe its been resolved I didnt notice it this time. The beds are alittle hard. This time we brought our dog. Its nice to find a quality hotel thats pet friendly.
