An experience not to be missed. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, then I highly recommend this address. This bed & breakfast is a restored bordello/saloon from the 1900s. The bedrooms are upstairs and downstairs there is a bakery and gift shop with Route 66 memorabilia. It is also supposedly haunted but we didn't see any ghosts ! There is wireless internet access which is useful. We stayed in Best Gal's Room. This comfortable suite with private bathroom and a couch in a sitting room is nicely decorated with antique furnishings. The vintage Grand Canyon Railway departs for the Grand Canyon from just across the street. The room faces the street and the railway but there was no noise and we slept soundly with the window opened ! In the morning, we met the other guests for breakfast in the bakery. The breakfast was lovely with delicious pastries, cereals, fresh fruit and fruit juice. John Holst, owner and hospitable innkeeper greeted us and spent time talking about the history of the building. Local historian and involved in the campaign to save the Route 66 and the town of Williams, he eagerly shared information about the town, the Grand Canyon and the local area. Definitely a refreshing change from the standard hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Garter it was all we thought it would be, we were not disappointed at all. The breakfast every morning was lovely with a good choice of pastries /toast, cereal and fruit, lovely juice and coffee was to be had. Sue was a great host and most helpful in were to eat and things to see and do in the area,.
The atmosphere of the Red Garter was great, loved our room, we stayed in the Madams room. We went to the Grand Canyon from here and it was so easy and close to get to.
I would strongly recommend THE RED GARTER to any-one. Loved Williams so glad we stop and stayed at the Red garter will be back one day.

We stayed here for two nights in July for a visit to the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area. The hotel is easy to find on a main street with a public parking area across the street. The staircase is long and the treads are narrow, but wasn't a problem for us. Mtion-sensing lights illuminate the stairs. There is wireless internet access if you have a computer or iPad. We are a family of four and stayed in the Big Bertha room, which was quite large. It has two queen beds, an armoire, a dresser, and a TV. The room is decorated in Victorian through Art Deco style and was very charming. The beds were comfortable. There is no A/C, but even in July we didn't need it. The temperatures were very pleasant and a ceiling fan kept the air moving. The bathroom is quite large, with an antique tub with claw feet. The room faces away from the street. We never heard any of the other guests, but we did hear some noise from bar patrons from the building behind the Red Garter. We shut the window and it was no noisier than a neighbor with the TV up a little loud. They eventually left.

Breakfast was served from the bakery downstairs, any of the pastries in the case (which were delicious), served with fruit and your choice of three juices, milk, and/or coffee. Also available were cereal choices and yogurt. The innkeeper, (John?) greeted us both mornings and we had some great conversations about the Grand Canyon and the local area. He has posted several sightseeing loops on his website, which we followed and greatly appreciated, as we never heard of some of the national monuments, and they were definitely worth visiting. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We actually stayed here on our honeymoon in June 2008 but it would not let me go back that far! We really enjoyed staying here! The people were great and the pastries for breakfast were incredible! Make sure to bring warm clothes just in case! We were here the first week in June and it snowed a little bit the one night due to the elevation per the b&b staff!

Room Tip: Bring a sweatshirt just in case!

This hotel is very unique and very reasonably priced. It's owners are very friendly and helpful. It was a very refreshing change from staying in chain motels. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection of homemade pastries. We would definitely stay again.
