Spent wonderful 6 nights in Waidroka Bay Resort, simple/clean/basic and staffs are very welcoming and felt like home.

I enjoyed very much the idea of having dinner together sharing the experiences. Also loved the way kitchen staffs calling your name when serving the plates-lovely atomosphere. While dinner menu may have room for improvements, breakfast and lunch had variation and were delicious!

I did not surf or dive but had amazing time just snorkeling around the pontoon build near-by, where beautiful coral reef can be seen.
Special thanks to Gil!!! for paying attention and caring for guest like me--single traveller, non-sufer/diver, taking me to pontoon by paddle board. He made sure that I was not bored and was attending to suggest what is available.

I can proudly recommend this resort, perfect place for relaxation, reading books, lying on hammock and if you get bored, can just jump into pool or go snorkeling.

Spent 7 nights in this hidden, off-the-path resort. Had a most relaxing stay with a wonderful "family" of hosts. The dive operation is headed by two excellent guides and an excellent boat captain who knew his waters well. Managers Wade and Wanda did their best to make us feel part of the resort family. The "Big House" staff knew us by name immediately and did all they could to make us welcome. Meals were a delight and portions were way too generous. I especially like the lounging areas whether by the pool, near the bay, or at the veranda of the main house. Pile on the pillows, play with the new kittens and watch the world go by with a beverage in your hand. Take part in stimulating conversations with people from around the world as we all gathered at one sitting for the evening meal. Be prepared for a 2+ hour drive to get to your destination from Nadi I had no desire to go anywhere else for the week. Housekeeping staff kept our one bedroom/bath fresh daily. It was 60 steps up to our room, but once down at the main house, there was little reason to go back up to the room. A well maintained pool was available if the 2 or 3 tanks of diving didn't wear us out. We did not need AC for our October stay, but it is there if needed. No electric media to bother you unless you really want to contact the world via the net. Looking back, this was a pleasant surprise for us. The diving will not disappoint. Our surfer friends seemed to be enjoying themselves also.

Had an amazing week at Waidroka. Working with the staff there to coordinate our stay was easy, we were able to fly overnight from LA and they picked us up at the airport where we were able to begin our day in paradise. The team there is constantly trying to fit all your needs/desires for your stay by making things flexible and changing plans to make your stay better. Every day was awesome, the surf was fun and our guide worked endlessly to study the spots and let us know how he thought it was going to be. Two stories about our trip really describe the place well. The first story is I lost my board (the leash snapped on a large wave), when I came up the surf guide was already paddling toward me to ask if I was alright. When he knew I was okay he paddled straight over the reef to get my board for me (a dangerous thing for him to do, but he saved my board and helped me have a great trip). The second story is that one day the surf wasn't so good, so we went to the manager of the resort and asked him what we should do for the day. We told him we were kind of just looking to cruise around Fiji and see what the local life is like. He set us up with one of his workers, who brought us to a nearby waterfall where we had to have a kava ceremony with the chief in order to visit. Later he took us to his home village where we had to have an additional kava ceremony. At his Village we were able to play with the kids and generally experience the loving/accepting nature of the Fijian people. So at Waidroka we had great surf, great guides, great company, and got to experience a great culture.

My dad and I recently just booked a week long surfing trip at Fiji, staying at Waidroka Bay resort. The surf guide Gil was always accurate in his decision making on which waves would be working with what wind and tide conditions.
The whole Resort was really wonderful, with such a fun and happy feel to it.
I thoroughly recommend Waidroka Bay Resort, they will not let you down.

My mate and I booked a week in waidroka to chill out and get some waves en route to the US. We booked the unlimited surf trip package which included meals, local surf trips (pay extra to frigates) and a panoramic room. The resort is secluded and nestled in a bay which is backed by impressive rainforest and landscapes. The resort is well looked after and everyone from managers to ground staff are friendly and keen for everyone to have the best time. the surf guide Gil is a champion and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is scoring the best waves - he knows all the breaks and conditions and is onto all the latest reports to ensure you score. We were lucky to get some big swell and surf some sick waves at pipes with the small resort crew. Memorable sessions with plenty of hooting!!

The panoramic rooms are up the stairs and have awesome views over the bay and reef passes. Good to wake up to. The rooms are well equipped and cleaned daily. The food was really impressive with breakfast and dinner with the best variety. They provide unlimited fresh water which was safe to drink. We had an awesome crew when we were there and finishing off the day at the bar with a few beers/spirits and some laughs was perfect. It was cool to catch up with the managers, dive crew, Gil to reflect on the day....

With 4 boats operating, waidroka have it covered. They also have kayaks and 2 x SUP boards free to use and cruise over the clear turquoise waters inside the reef. Snorkelling is quality at most surf breaks. We did a introductory dive for the 1st time with Sasha. He was super helpful and made us feel comfortable - he knows his stuff and is really passionate. Lauren is also awesome and they both deliver a safe and professional service. They have a large dive set up and shed to store all your surf gear.

Resort seclusion means its a good drive to get anywhere else, but there is enough to keep you there anyway - awesome pool and shaded chill out area, coconuts to eat, plenty of surf/dive mags, pool table, table tennis, chess, bar etc. we didn't even bother leaving. Chill out time was in order.

We had a great time at waidroka resort which was largely due to friendly management and staff and the cool people who were staying there. Everyone got along like a house on fire! I wouldn't hesitate to go back and wish everyone there good luck - hope to see you again someday!! Clay
