I was travelling solo through Guatemala and thought this would be a great place to spend a few more dollars on. It was well worth it.

The view is excellent, the property is very attractive. The rooms are most clean and overall staff attention is excellent. Management is as helpful as can be. Meals were good and a good value. This is definitely one of the most civilized places to stay at on the lake and all others are easily accessed.

Group dinners are always pleasant and good meals with good sized portions.

Once we got to our room and into the hammock we wanted to stay forever! The view over the lake is glorious and incredibly relaxing. The hotel is built into the cliff face so every room has an amazing view (and a lot of steps!) The room we had was small but very comfortable (there are larger rooms available). Breakfasts in particular were excellent, but so were all the meals. Dinner is optional but most guests eat there, partly because the options are limited but mostly because the food is so good. Everyone shares one long table so you get to meet different people each night. The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is a footpath above the hotel to walk to other villages, but from Panajachel the hotel is only accessible by boat. We thought the hotel very reasonably priced for such a beautiful place. We can't wait to go back.

This is a magical place. My husband and I spent several days here on our honeymoon and returned at the end of our journey to spend two extra nights. Casa del Mundo is extraordinary! It is perched up on a cliff overlooking Lake Atitlan and has incredible views of the lake. It is simply magical. The rooms are special, each one different but with its own charm. The food and service is warm, friendly and accomodating. There is so much to say about this place, it's hard to know where to start. If you are into adventure and pure beauty, this is a place I would recommend without a doubt. There are options to have day trips, or just hang out and read by the lakeside or hang in your room and read or rest. The lake is peaceful and has an aire of magic and peace. The afternoons can bring rain and thunder, but this too is special. We saw rainbows and were awakened in the middle of the night by the moon lit lake which was truly mystical. My husband and I would send anyone here, alright, almost anyone...There are many steps which one needs to climb, but it's ALL worth it! See for yourself. Take yourself here, it's a treat.

My husband and I stayed at La Casa del Mundo for two nights during our honeymoon and we can't wait to go back! The room was nice and clean and the views are simply breath taking. We had a blast exploring the area and just relaxing by the lake. We also enjoyed talking to the other guest of the hotel during the dinner.

There is quite a hike to get to the hotel and you have to take a boat to get there but it is well worth it!

My wife and I and 5 friends just stayed a couple of nights at Casa del Mundo and it was wonderful. The views of Lake Atitlan are spectacular and they can be had from nearly every room at the hotel. Simply excellent.

The food was excellent although your choices are dependent upon your meal. The lunch menu (nothing served after 2p) was lengthy and everyone had excellent food. Dinner has one seating (starts at 6:30p) and there is one option, whatever is cooked that day. I guess you could say the dinner menu is limited, but that one choice is good and include 4 courses.

There is a bit a walk up some stairs, but it's not bad. Staff is helpful. It is removed from any towns, so go with your loved one or friends and know your evenings will be tranquil. No goin' out to a club here. It is about a 1/2 hour lancha (boat) ride from Panajachel. Go and have a good time.
