I stayed here for a week on business in March 2012. The location was great. Its only about 15 minutes from the airport and it is close to the Interstate. The lobby looked new. The staff were very helpful. I had several packages delivered there, and they took good care of them. The bed was comfy. I agree with another reviewer that the pillows were small, but that's a minor thing. I had a problem with the A/C on the first night, but they corrected it quickly.

First time staying in this hotel and the location is very handy for accessing locations either in central Phoenix or the east valley. My room was clean and in good shape. Entry lobby was also clean and in good order. The bed was average and was supplied with annoying "chiclet" pillows (six for a king size bed) which make it difficult to find a comfortable resting position. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and did a nice job cleaning the room. Young ladies staffing the front desk were surly at times and occasionally more interested in surfing the web than greeting or smiling at guests when they walked into the lobby. Elevator stopped working on my last day which made checking out a pain since we had to drag our luggage down the stairs. My room overlooked the pool and noise from guests enjoying the pool intruded into the room. Overall, a good experience at a decent hotel that could benefit from friendlier front desk employees.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Upon our return the 2nd day, we noticed that our son's Nintendo 3DS was missing from the table (stupid us for trusting that it would be safe!) When we notified the front desk, they dismissed the notion that the maid staff took it. This was the only logical conclusion, since no one else was in our room all day. We notifed Tempe Police to make a report (even though they really couldn't do anything). The manager flat out told us, "Our maids didn't take anything. You are jumping to conclusions." He wouldn't even refund our 2nd night's stay. If you choose to save a few bucks and stay here, DO NOT leave anything of value within sight...it most likely won't be there when you get back. :( On a different note, the spa was colder than the pool! The only good things were the breakfast and the bed was comfortable.

There is nothing special about this hotel. It is your default Comfort Inn level hotel except it's a little bigger since the rooms are "suites". And by that all you get is a bigger studio space with a sitting area separated by a short half wall. Not that there is a separate bedroom like other suite hotels. It's clean enough and big enough but it is quite average. Nothing special here. The heating and cooling unit is one of those exterior units under the window so when it runs, it can blow at the bed right next to it. That and of course as usual, those units are noisy when they kick off. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Breakfast was the default average light weight breakfast you get at most hotels, but I didn't pick this hotel to get a big breakfast.

The 2 reasons why I chose this hotel. Reason #1, it is close enough to the airport but since it's in Tempe and not Phoenix, it was much cheaper than the hotels right next to the hotel. And on that note, if you are expecting a hotel airport shuttle to pick you up, it can take up to half and hour for them to get to you. Call early! Apparently the shuttle works for other hotels too not a dedicated shuttle service and it is still a 15 min drive between Sky Harbor and this hotel.

Reason #2, we wanted to rent a car for a week. This hotel is only minutes away from Enterprise. By renting from the Tempe location instead of the airport, we literally saved $200 for the week vs. picking a car up at the airport. In fact, when we called for a pickup, they couldn't get to our hotel for another 2 hours, so I just walked to Enterprise from the hotel since it was a nice day. It was about a 15 min walk. And no, I didn't have to drop the car off back in Tempe. I was able to drop it off at the airport for an additional $35. But since I saved $200, I was still well ahead.

Otherwise, this was an average hotel with the default breakfast and default level of service and cleanliness. Which is why I'm giving it an average rating.

We also chose this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and the reviews were accurate. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and a good value.

The rooms were large and very clean. The bed was very nice and comfortable.

Highly recommend, especially if looking for a hotel close to the Sky harbor airport.
