My family and I went here for the day. And it's very lovely. The trail is mostly what we went there for and it surely didn't disappoint. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to see some unique scenery. We will definitely be back.

I'm so pleased that my husband found this quiet state park. We went there several times during our month in the area. The sand seemed even whiter than other places on the gulf, and the water was incredibly beautiful. The beach is very near the parking lot, so you don't have far to lug chair and other necessities. There are also restrooms right there. This was a great place to get away from the crowds in town - definitely worth the $5 admission!

The cabin in the park was a great place to stay. Centrally located for all the hiking, boating, eating and drinking that we could do. Great restaurants there. My only complaint is that the cabins needed some updating. Floors were very dirty and our fireplace in the cabin did not work. We found a fire pit not far from the cabin and really enjoyed our evenings there.

The state park is in two sections divided by the quaint cottage resort of Grayton Beach. The park provides an opportunity to walk along a spectacular white sand beach, to have a picnic in a covered picnic area (with barbecues) or to hike among the dunes (on the designated trail only). The beach vegetation is very interesting. Photo opportunities abound.

But not off the marked path. If you are looking for something new to do at the beach, peddle down to Grayton Beach State Park, pay $2 each and enjoy the natural beauty of untouched sand dunes and the natural flora and fauna. We hitched the bikes to the bike rack and walked the beach trail into the bushes. Remember to wear sturdy enough shoes for sandy trails. It can be slow going but what’s the hurry? There are evenly spaced signs to mark your trail and arm you with facts about what your eyes and ears are experiencing. Most exciting for a regular 30A visitor is to finally find out what is underneath those enigmatic top branched trees that stand between the shores of Western lake and the beach. This is one of Florida's birding trails and it is just a nice walk if that's what you are in the mood for. We are glad we did this finallly.
