Thank you Charlie for a great tour. Had fun. Learned a lot. The hummer tour was great. Gave us ideas for what to do next.

Our group of four has done this trip three years in a row. This was the latest in the year we have kayaked and even though the water was low, we still had a great time. Hope to make our trip next year when the water is moving a little quicker!
We had a blast today! The river was low, but still fun! Good exercise and we spotted man birds! And Brandon was not just a great guide, but also told us the best (and closest) place to go afterward for some great brews and food - Verde Brewing Company.
The only reason this gets a 4 instead of a 5 is the river's fault! We just came while it was very shallow, and my hubby and I are both big people in a tandem, so he had to hop out and push us off the rocks a couple times. Still - wonderful time! And Brandon was great - such an interesting guy! We hope t come back!
When we first went on the 1/2 day regular Verde River kayak trip years ago, we had a guide and the tour started from the business in town; they provided water, snacks, water guns and we got to know the group from all over the country, good fun. We were driven down to the river in an air conditioned van so our cars did not take a beating or covered in dirt as the road is very rocky, uneven and long, miles long. We were picked up and dropped back at the business where changing booths were provided. We hopped in our cars and we were off. Our kids asked to go again. When went a second time about two years ago, there still was a guide, but we had to drive down the miles log roacky, dusty road to the river ourselves to meet the van. The kayaks were clean as well as the vests and we again enjoyed a nice group trip. Kids asked to go again. We went yesterday for the third time at the children's bidding and it was very different. First of all, we were unlucky to travel the same rocky road three times for one river trip. After our long ride to meet the van, we climbed in a van to go right back the way we came with broken air conditioning so it was cooler when we got out of the van than inside, suffocatingly long and bone rattling. The door also popped open on its own behind a passenger. This time on the river, no guide but my bad for not checking that the kayak trip changed again. To leave, we were at the mercy of the last group to end their trip. Our two tandems were by the road and must have been there most of the day because it had all the life vests in them and they were covered in dirt, really covered. After dragging them down the hill (husband did his, driver did mine, we shoved off but our tandems turned to mud so I had my son get out so I could wash it, flip it and upright it again. Long trip so bring a dry sack and pack well with sunscreen, snacks and especially water, lots of water. The driver/land guide was great though. Really nice guy aimed to please. He really softened the edges this outfit has become. We had fun but for the money, it was not the professional experience it used to be, more Salt River tubing quality. My kids asked not to go again.
