My young daughter and I were supposed to stay here for a few nights. Long story short....due to a mess up on THEIR behalf we were told after an exhausting day of travel that they sold our room 10 minutes before we arrived, even tho we had the emails confirming our room. The guy at the counter blatantly lied to cover himself but after my husband spoke with the owner I can see why he lied. ....probably out of fear of the owner. The owner is a Class A jerk and I am thankful we didn't stay. We have been to Sedona several times and plan to return....but not to this awful place.

Hotel Policy:
CREDIT CARD POLICY-
It is the responsibility of the guest booking the reservation to make sure that we have a valid credit card on file. Oak Creek Terrace will charge the guest credit card for one nights stay within 72 hours, prior to arrival. The balance will be paid by the guest at time of their check-in. IF FOR ANY REASON the card on file does not go through, Oak Creek Terrace reserves the right to cancel the reservation, and resell the room.

We have these policies to protect us. The guy that night had no idea if you were going to arrive. Or if that room was going to sit empty therefore, not generating any income.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. It's unfortunate situation and not typical.

We do hope that you enjoyed your stay in Sedona nonetheless.

-Alex

This place is absolutely perfect. We were in one of the few 2 bed rooms, which says spotless and peaceful. There was great hot water in the shower, AA microwave, fridge, TV, and two big beds. More importantly is what is outside the room. Down the back of the property is a rambling creek surrounded by eminently climbable rocks and a tangle of trees and vines. So beautiful and easy to explore, so peaceful and secluded. Up the back continues a wall of treed cliff face, which isn't for climbing but for admiring. Along the creek there are various seats and hammocks, and in the grounds of the property there are beautiful artworks. Then there is the koi pond, the lizard wall, and the quiet location. We paid about $140 for the night and it was the best deal we've had in our trip across America. Cannot recommend this place enough.

This is a pleasant place to stay if you want to stay a few miles out of the main tourist area of Sedona - approx 10 miles and don't mind driving in the dark at night. I stayed in room 10 next to the Coy pond - it is the furthest away from the office and street on the street level. There are other rooms which are further back and below the street level which are probably a whole lot quieter. You do hear vehicle noise in the room if you are there during the day but that noise does die down considerably after night fall. The only downside with the room was the bathroom was a little small especially around the sink area where there was no space to put all the makeup containers etc if you are a female. The reason for this is that they have a jacuzzi in the room which takes up some of the bathroom space, There is a fireplace in the room which is a nice touch.
The area behind the street level rooms has a nice deck with recliners and chairs to view the mountains behind the hotel. If you walk down thru the garden you will find a great stream at the bottom of the property which is a great place to sit and take in a book if you are not hiking, shopping or eating.
Staff were pleasant and helpful but other than checking in I did not need them for anything.
There is a great restaurant about 1/2 mile down the road from the hotel, Indian gardens which has a wonderful breakfast. There is also a Dairy Queen across the street if you want something quick and a BBQ area next to the coy pond Overall if you want to stay out of town I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: room 10 or garden level if you want less noise during the day

Thank you for staying with us. Yes we are about 5 miles out of town, up the canyon. It does get dark at night, but with Sedona being deemed a "dark city" we are restricted on street lights. Im glad that you enjoyed your time and we look forward to you staying again.

Super location just north of town. On Oak Creek with comfortable clean rooms. Rooms and bathroom are small but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and had great outdoor areas to enjoy the weather. A little far from most restaurants but there was a Dairy Queen across the street.

I think the Oak Creek Terrace Resort must have been nice once, but it wasn't too great of a place to stay. The locations is nice and the backdrop is very pretty but the rooms were dated and the air in the room was musty. So much so that I cleaned out the air filter in the AC only to find clumps of dust. The place is just a little run down and needs some TLC to compete with other better options in Sedona.

We can appreciate your corrective criticism. We have been going through room by room and updating from floor to ceiling. We put all our efforts to making that room "up-to-date", so it is a little time consuming. Give us a call when you are planning your next trip to Sedona, and we'll make sure we get you into a newly renovated room.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It helps a lot.
