“Great location to local wineries and Sedona; pet friendly; very relaxing!”
Reviewed 15 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

My title says it all! The rental was perfect for our stay, and plenty of room for our 75lbs shepherd. My wife and I stayed here for a wedding in Sedona. We wanted a few things for our stay: 1) dog friend 2) close to wineries 3) something different from the hotels in Sedona. This rental was the perfect location for our own "winery tour!" The rental is less than a mile from 3 wineries and is only a short drive to the Cottonwood and Jerome wineries as well as about a 15 minute drive to Sedona. The rental was clean, spacious and private. It does have wifi and cable, but honestly, we didn't use it b/c we wanted to disconnect and enjoy the wine. The owners Chris and Jackie are very friendly and gave us a tour of the property, trails and river. Overall it's a great value, unique and I would stay here again!

“Not what I expected”

This place just wasn't what I expected from the photos. It is a reasonable, clean place to sleep and the owners were nice. Full disclosure so you can decide: The cabin's window looks into the ditch of the highway. The drainage ditch is on the edge of the property and not cabin side. The hot tub is more of a large warm water soaker tub that is outside the owners room. It requires a four hour advance reservation and closes at 9pm. This place has a lot of creative flair throughout the property - although skulls and skeletons aren't my thing. Cooking was a challenge. Think studio apartment with a two burner hot plate and eating at the table in the bedroom. The bedrooms in the loft are straight up an insecure ladder. There is no getting up with luggage or for anyone who can't make it through a small hatched door. The main floor is uneven so I don't recommend it for elderly or early toddlers. There is little privacy with the stairs going into the bathroom and open main floor. The view is lovely if you face the orchards. I will try to post some pictures. My experience was fine just not what I was looking for.

We value all of our clients input, but to clarify, on one side of our Quaint Getaway is the Page Spring with supplies pure drinking water to nine ranchers and is NOT a highway ditch. In fact, there is no "drainage ditch" anywhere on the property. The Mason-lane creek is a tributary of the Oak Creek which runs through the property and has live trout, bass, bluegill and crayfish and is quite scenic. Our hot tub is a medieval fantasy tub and everyone is informed that it takes 6-8 hours to heat up because it is huge. If you wade in early it will not be up to temperature and will only be "warm." In the summer some folks prefer to use it as a wading pool and others prefer to swim in the Oak Creek. And yes there is a lot of "flair" to our property which is why we have a lot of return clients. Some of that flair includes pirate themes, King Arthur, etc and rustic ranch effects, as well as, flowers and roses, not to mention, a 100 year old orchard which during season our clients are encouraged to eat free as part of staying with us. There is a $5,500 Elmira wood burning cook stove if people choose. Otherwise there a four electric burners and large toaster oven. The ladder leading to the loft bedrooms is a custom angled ships ladder, is safe and secure and meets county inspection. We realize climbing loft ladders is'nt for everyone, which is why there is a downstairs bedroom as well. All of the floors are perfectly level. There wood burning stove and entry way both have a stone floor. The bathroom is perfectly private if you close the doors. Quaint Getaway is a great value for the money. It will sleep 6-8, is pet friendly and our other cottage, Piece of Heaven (Flipkey #333034) is all on one level (also pet friendly) and is a great alternative for smaller parties and folks that don't like lofts. Piece of Heaven features a california king bed and convertible sofa (will sleep 4) as well as, a full kitchen a private patio and private upstairs porch.

“Lovely setting in quaint, unusual house.”

We enjoyed our little house on this beautiful piece of property on the creek. The owners were very welcoming and everything was ready for our stay. The house was clean and had what we needed to cook breakfast.
There were 2 bedrooms but you could only get to them thru the bathroom and up a ladder. The rooms were not enclosed but in a loft.
Downstairs bedroom was in an alcove off the living room,
Nice house but not a lot of privacy and everyone shares the one bathroom.
Enjoyed walking the property and there was a nice hot tub and a swimming hole.

“Getaway”
Reviewed 1 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

The place was nice. Kinda small and a little expensive but overall good. We couldnt figure out how to make it warmer in the cottage. We chose the place so we could let our dogs run loose but they had chickens and they werent put up so our dog killed one. We had to leash our dogs after. Overall good stay but wish it were a little cheaper since its always a drive to get somewhere.

“Great place for a relaxing time”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Chris & Jacqui were great, everyone who lives on the property were very friendly and helpful. Sure is a lovely spot right by the creek. We stayed in the 2 bedroom house & because of the ladder access to the bedrooms weren't able to get our suitcases upstairs. Actually, access to the bedrooms was such an issue that I slept on the couch in the living room. The stove didn't work & we only had a hot plate to fix meals on & of course, no oven. For a mildly disabled person, this house may not be right for you but Chris has another rental right next to this house that is nicer & easier to get around in. We were looking forward to the hot tub, I did mention my back, but the heater wasn't working. Plan to go when the fruit in the orchard is ripe!

Thanks for the kind words and we look forward to a future visit. Many of our guests return multiple times because it is such a special place. We have added a downstairs bedroom in Quaint Getaway to accommodate guests who do not want to, or cannot access the loft bedrooms via the "ships ladder." The Elmira woodburning cookstove does work, it is just a matter of reading the directions, or having Chris demonstrate. It's a beautiful piece and an exotic touch to the cottage, but most people prefer to use the two double hot plates and full size toaster oven as an alternative. As with any business, sometimes things need to be fixed, so we regret any inconvenience concerning the "medieval hot tub."
