Description: The only thing primitive about Wildfish Seafood Grille is the swimmingly fresh seafood -- mostly caught the day before and shipped next day on ice. Otherwise, this cosmopolitan bistro is as sophisticated as any fine eatery in New York or Vegas. Burnished wood, dim theatrical lighting, cozy tables, a stylish exhibition kitchen and central bar with several TVs available to catch the game embellish the interior. Veteran restaurateurs Guy Villavaso and Larry Foles (Z'Tejas, Eddie V's Edgewater Grille) have created a fierce seafood-steakhouse combination, which attracts food-loving couples, ladies on a luxurious night out and sexy singles at the bar. Because Wildfish is not as wallet-busting as similar concepts in the area, go ahead and start with a spicy lump crab cake surrounded in a buttery remoulade sauce. If you're in the mood for steak, pick a finely aged filet, rib eye or veal chop.

We came with a couple of friends and all of us really enjoyed the food and service. There was a very large table seated next to us and the noise from that group was the one drawback.

The bread brought to the table was warm, fresh and delicious (probably ate too much of it). We all started with the Heirloom Tomato Salads with Burrata. This is the standard that all similar salads will be compared to. Excellent! I kept thinking about those tomatoes weeks later. Our entrees – Scallops, Swordfish, Black Cod. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert (recall the bread comment!). Service was professional, friendly and efficient.

On a Saturday night in Scottsdale during Spring Training there were few restaurants still taking reservations. Wild fish had room for us and we went with little knowledge of what we would find. The restaurant was sleek and upscale, and so were the prices. However, the quality of the food justified the price, and in truth the prices were in line with other places we dined. Two in our party had generous portions of lobster bisque. I had crab and corn chowder. For an entree I had raw east coast oysters, good but maybe not as tasty as my usual west coast oysters, and my husband had a huge portion of sautéed scallops. Our friends loved their swordfish. I would return again and again if I could.

I had the butterfish and my daughter had the scallops. Both cooked perfectly. Sides of spinach and asparagus were very good. Gets crowded, make a reservation. Busy restaurant in a popular area.

We always try out the "top" restaurants if we can and today's choice was as good as everyone says! The ambiance was great, they didn't try to hurry us and the every course was wonderful. Try the banana foster for dessert! (Worth the 10 minute wait.)

We were looking for seafood and this place came through for us. We sat at the bar for happy hour and were well-served by the two bartenders. Martinis were made just right and the appetizers were excellent. We had calamari which was prepared in a different way, sort of Asian style. Very good. We also had a crab cake. Only one of the plate, but it was big and freshly made. Exceptional. Would go back again if ever in the area.

Good to see service staff wearing white shortcoats and ties...nice touch.
