“Made our spring break "A total hit"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

This hotel was awesome. outstanding, exceptional-

Our stay started with a gentleman at the front desk "Ryan" really bending over backwards to help our stay be as economical and wonderful as it could have ever been. I was speechless! I think you said Chris is your boss, .Chris......Ryan goes above and beyond. He also works a ton of hours, wow.

The pool was just perfect, not too big, comfortable and the kids could run back and forth from the pool to the park and room and it was comfortable. My boys are 7, 10, and 13. Excellent service at the pool and Always greeted with a warm friendly smile.

Thank you for making our spring break one to remember, Ryan, I have to give you credit, thank you, could "not" have done it without your help. We just moved from Scottsdale two months ago, (lots of tears) we were close to our old house and all of our friends and it was an absolute Blast.!!!!!!!

Many thanks, Amy, Bill, Brad, Mark, and Reed Little

Thank you for having an impeccable staff and being so warm and friendly.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, get the larger one bedroom! I was not abcle too, but a couple told me it give...

Stayed with my family of 4 in premium one bedroom over Spring Break.

The good:
Lovely entrance and beautiful grounds.
Always spotless!
Villa was beautifully decorated and kitchen has everything (except a pizza slicer- no biggie)
Beautiful master bedroom with huge bathroom and oversized jacuzzi tub
Furnishings were in great shape
Pool was very large, clean
Loved the hot tub
Lots of closet space etc.

The "OK,but wish were better"

Villa living room and dining room on smaller side we seemed to bump into each other a lot.
Small kitchen with limited counter space
Glass kitchen tables - HATE them with no cleaning products. I did request but was told they could not have chemicals in villa and I would have to purchase my own. That drives me bonkers!!!
Pool area could use more chairs and tables
Sheets were definitely not 100% cotton and/or low thread count
Bath towels were a joke- small and scratchy
Food - offerings very limited at splash snack bar. That would be ok if there was another choice, but there is not
Zero cell phone coverage in villa (AT&T) ok coverage at pool.

Very nice staff, and you can see the staff works hard to maintain this lovely property. Would like to give it a 3.5 but can't do a 4. Would I return? I don't know. Would not be opposed to it, but not eager either.

Room Tip: Great grocery at Fry's Signature Grocery Store

I booked this property through RCI during Spring Break Week. I was given a handicapped room with no oven and a combination washer/dryer, which wasn't the best (I didn't need special accommodations--just "luck of the draw)." The microwave was also a convection oven, so that was sufficient. My "view" was of the parking lot and 101--you might want to request a mountain or courtyard/pool view. The location is wonderful, and it is very easy easy to get to a lot of places of interest. The SDO is about half a mile from 101 (watch out for photo radar speed trap as you come off od 101--the speed limit on Hayden Road is 40 mph) and it's about 2.5 miles to the amazing shops of Kierland Commons and several shopping plazas that contain Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. One mile in the other direction is a Fry's grocery.

Sedona is a lovely and easy 2-hr drive. Take 17N to 260 toward Cottonwood, then 89A to get to Sedona "the back way." Avoid Sedona on the weekends if you can! The natural scenery is stunning and there are plenty of galleries, shops and restaurants, but parking can be a challenge. It's easy to return to 17 via 179, which takes you past more excellent vistas.

Easy driving to the Desert Botanical Garden and Taliesen West, just try to avoid "rush hour" traffic" on 202 and 101. The museums and attractions of downtown Phoenix are also an easy drive.

The pool here is a great place to relax (it gets busy at about 8:30a) but the chairs are quite close together. There is a poolside grille by the main pool, and a "quiet/adult" pool a short walk from there. No restaurants on property, but there is a great variety of restaurants within 8-10 minutes.

The 1-bedroom "premium" suites are spacious, with very good kitchen items and provisions. Toaster, blender, dishwasher and coffee maker are provided. There are two gas fireplaces--1 in living room/1 in bedroom) and double sinks in the bathroom. There is a separate enclosed stand-alone shower and loo. The jacuzzi tubs in the bedrooms are apparently going to be removed in an upcoming renovation. There is a queen-sized sleep sofa in the living room.

The staff organizes a lot of kids' events, as well as information from tour providers and local artisans, and a weekly wine tasting ($15).

This is a great place for a vacation, and I look forward to coming back!

Room Tip: Ask for 3rd floor mountain or pool/courtyard view.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Sheraton Desert Oasis, and could not have been more pleased. The accommodations were absolutely beautiful with so many nice touches. The combination living room, kichen, and bedroom were laid out well, and we appreciated the extra space. The Southwestern decor was charming, and we loved having the outside patio to relax. The bed was so comfortable, and the blackout drapes kept the room nice and dark for sleeping. We spent a few hours relaxing at the pool and hot tub. That area was well maintained with plenty of towels. The only minor complaint we might have is the lack of dining facilities but, with the abundance of restaurants in Scottsdale, this was not really an issue. A very pleasant stay!
