Must always state, that we have attended Turf Paradise in the fall for the past fifteen plus years. A prime phyiscal facility that is not being maintained inside as in the past. The elevator to the Turf Club and Club House area is a prime example, missing entry tile into elevator is certainly not good curb appeal nor welcoming to the Turf Club. Turf Club restroom has needed updating for years and now only one of the wash basins has a functioning faucet, terrible working hand air dryers and overall appearance is much need of some TLC to say the least. Another obvious notation is the declining number of patrons and likewise declining overal track handles of betting and purse amounts offered. Accordingly, the quality of horses and lack of higher horse rating numbers are a direct reflection of both. Staff and food service is excellent and certainly outstanding in taking care of the current crowds. The last negative trend is the lack of starting races on or even near the designated times. Has become an "tomorow time" track and not a punctual precise operation of the past. Hate to admit it after all these years, the track appears to be dying and that is really tragic! Horse racing is normally a wonderful day of excitement and enjoyment and in the past Turf Paradise was among the top venues. Despite the payoffs and quality of horses, it was an enjoyable three days of racing and the weather was excellent.

Staff go out of their way to make everything easy for placing bets, and providing an enjoyable experience. Very relaxing way to spend a day picking favorite horses by name, or by stats for experienced fans.

I have been to alot of tracks in the US and Canada over the years, This is a unique place. It is a little out of its prime but had good attendance overall and was a great afternoon.

Love going to the Turf Club, having lunch and watching the races. Wasn't that impressed this time with our meals or the service.....Great guy...very nice but kind of slow. Food was subpar....probably won't eat there again. Maybe just have dessert. Love the venue though and watching the horses.

Celebrated St Patrick's Day at the track and Turf Paradise didn't disappoint.
Comfortable seating, large parking lots, good police presence for safety, libations of choice, decent food choices and nice tables for two, four, six, even eight make for a very comfortable setting for a day at the races.
Breaking up the routine was about a forty ifive minute display of camel racing, zebra racing, and finally ostrich racing. More than the routine was broken up with this event. No gambling allowed, but the crowd was laughing, cheering, and having a ball with this one. Everybody walked away a winner. Smiles and Irish eyes abounded.

Have been to tracks across the country, and would rate this track in the top ten for overall racing experience. VERY reasonable when considering parking, admission, and dining prices. The facilities are in decent shape and the track itself offers good site-lines. The staff is friendly and the patrons all seemed to be enjoying their day at the races. This is nor a Tier 1 track, but the quality of the horses and jockeys is much better than similar level tracks in the East. The Turf Club Level here offers one of the best values in live racing in the West.

Good Sight Lines, Well Kept Course, can feel them coming down the last furlong as the crowd noise swells. Great people watching. Not many stoopers as in the main tracks. (stoopers are those guys at the big tracs going around and picking up discarded tickets hoping someone threw away a winning ticket. Unfortunately I couldn't join the cheering, every horse I picked finished fourth or worse..Oh well a day at the track, sitting in the AZ fun is still a winner.

The Turf Club is the only way to enjoy this Race Track.

Located on the 3rd. floor with an outstanding view of the track, it is spectacular.

The food served at lunch is very tasty, all of the service is first rate and the opportunity to dine while the horses make you money ( not all the time ) make for a very pleasant afternoon.

Since moving away from Phoenix in 1992 I wondered why Turf Paradise still looks the same inside? Oh well....it's gotta be very expensive to upgrade & make the place look like Del Mar or Louisville.....

All in all, a really fun day with GREAT Breeder's Cup buffett which ran around $47 per adult but worth it.

Get reservations in the Turf Club ($5 per person) with tiered table seating which all have grand views of the peace course & surrounding area. Also, color tv's on all tables that change channels to view the simulcasts from other race tracks across the USA.

FREE PARKING!!!

EASY betting machines along the back wall but also dedicated betting windows manned by human beings!!

They have special Saturday's for all of the Triple Crown series and Breeder's Cup with the grand buffet etc.

We spent 6 hours there on a Saturday & would go again when in Phoenix again.
