Last Friday we decided to go see the Pompeii Exhibit. We thought all the kids would be in school so opted to go on a Friday instead of Saturday. BIG MISTAKE! The Benjamin Franklin Charter school was there with 2 or 3 busloads of kids who were running wild outside and at one point just missed knocking the 3 of us over. We went in to pay for our tickets, next shock...almost $90 for 3 people. We continued to the level the Exhibit was on, only to be met with screaming (and I mean screaming) and yelling by what I assume were kids from the same school. There didn't seem to be anyone in control of these kids. The noise from them in the Pompeii Exhibit continued almost the whole time. We thought we were going to spend a nice day viewing the fabulous artifacts that were on display...not attending an amusement park. I will never go there again or make any further monetary contributions. I hold the teachers responsible for the kids bad behavior and the Science Center responsible for not making it clear to the schools that running rampant is not allowed.

This is an excellent exhibit on the human body and how its components function. The descriptions were brief and held my attention span yet enlarged my understanding of how things work. It included some hands on that appeal to the young and old, and made me wish we had something like this in our small town. The real bonus was the traveling exhibit on Pompeii , Italy, that we found totally fascinating, as the artifacts were ones we never saw in our tour of the ruins of Pompeii.

A great experience. All the displays were informative and gave a real experience to life at that time. The devastation in such a short period of time is unbelievable. We visited Pompeii and the exhibit is great to share with families.
