The resort is top notch in hospitality and ambience. The activities are first class from snow skiing to golf. The pool has an awesome view plus hiking around the beautiful resort and golf course will absolutely take your breath away. Lobby is a great place to have a glass of wonderful Argentina wine or enjoying their blend of Llao Lloa tea while enjoying the unforgettable view. No disappointments!

Bariloche is a spectacular getaway -- a bit like The German musical Heidi with its rustic cabins and glorious snow capped mountains framin Argentina's like district, the area is sure to impress.

We stayed at the legendary LlaoLlao but it was way below our expectations. Service in Argentina can be hoy or miss. As well as quality. We were married at the fabulous Park Hyatt Buenos Aires Palacio Duahu and previously stayed at the Four Seasons Buenos Aires - both incredible hotels. But the LlaoLlao was less impressive and yet charged more or less the same rates as the other two 5 star hotels. Yes the LlaoLlao has a bit of the rustic lodge style charm -- think thick wooden pegged floors and plush fabric covered chairs and deer antlers on the wood walls with indigenous art. But the place is dated and not in a good way. They have a new nearly 30-50% more expensive wing that reminds me of the Sonnealp Resort in telluride but that is a five star resort. Here facilities like baths and showers are old showing cracked tiles and rusty markings. Breakfast was average -- nothing really bespoke or homemade and yet you pay nearly on average $350-500 nightly for standard rooms. We had to call three times to get water delivered to the room. The pool is warm and goes inside/outside ina free form shape which was soothing but the hot tub is luke warm and the spa facilities were incredibly dated and had generic toiletries dispensed out of a machine much like a high school gym changing room! Tea was $80 for two and they used tea bags not loose lead tea and had a terrible array of savory offerings. Thankfully the la escape and natural surroundings took the sting out of overpaying for a much hyped hotel.

We deeply regret having wasted the opportunity to captivate you.
The nature in which we are nestled is a privilege. Our challenge is to keep up providing the best service.
Our deepest pride lays on our identity, which trascends time. Llao Llao is an experience. To be remembered with happiness and nostalgy.
We work hard to make our guests feel special. Reading your review feels that we lacked the "Wow" factor for you.
Guest feedback is so important to us as it allows us to address areas of concern and improve. In this case, we deem facts are not the same as opinions.
We honour our history, yet understand that there are guests expecting contemporary facilities, As you mention, The Moreno Wing is the newest wing, 43 Studios and Suites that would have fulfilled for sure your expectations. We are sorry your room choice wasn't what you expected. We could have done better detecting your needs.
It is really frustrating your comparing us with Sonnealp as if we weren't a five stars resort.
Fortunately you experience with us may be described as "rare". Our prestige couldn't be supported should your perception be general, so to speak.
As of our breakfast and high tea, we are not used whatsoever to read such a dissapointment. On the contrary, both are emblematic services.
We are conscious we cannot please everyone, We receive guests from all over the world, and cannot recall such a taugh description.
We are extremely sorry we did not meet your expectations.
Again, there is nothing we can do to persuade you that we are much better than what you perceived the Llao Llao experience is about.
Thank you for your time.

After evaluating the many hotel possibilities in Bariloche, we decided for this historic hotel and are thankful that we did. After touring the town or skiing you have the choice of the many ammenities this resort has to offer. In our group, each went a different way to enjoy our time spent there. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The bathrooms were kind of small and a bit uncomfortable due to the age of construction or remodelling but nothing that would make us change our minds. Very nice buffet breakfast. Be aware that when choosing the room views (mountain view) you might look out onto the hotel's driveway a bit, but still preferred that than any other hotel in town. Others are right beside busy roads or near the town which has really not much to offer except the chocolate stores.

Room Tip: "Higher floors offer better views"

My husband and I just wanted to stop by and look around this historic hotel. We entered the hotel, the doorman opened the door for us and then we were immediately stopped by the "host" to ask what we wanted. We originally wanted to have a cup of tea and look around, but after the poor reception we said, we just wanted to look around. The host paused and said a tour is AR $180 per person and he said it as if that would be too much for us to pay. I was so insulted, he wouldn't let us more than a few feet into the hotel. We didn't look like bums, we were well dressed and groomed. My only thought is I am of African decent and that was enough to question our presence at the hotel. We decided to leave and not spend our money at the hotel. If you are not staying at the hotel, skip it and find somewhere else to spend your money and time.

Hotel Llao Llao is situated on a bluff with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. The hotel is not in the town of Bariloche itself making it very tranquil however you will need to make arrangements with the front desk to get a driver to take you into town or to any of the nearby restaurants not affiliated with the hotel. Our room was in the Moreno wing and we were happy we opted to stay in this wing. You need to take an elevator and covered walkway to get from the Moreno wing to the main hotel but from what we saw the rooms and views in the Moreno wing were superior to the offerings in the mail hotel. We are very happy we chose to stay at the Llao Llao while visiting Bariloche.
