This place has simple confortable rooms.

The location smack in the middle of Salta close to the main square is good.

The rooms are rather small. Mine had a window facing an internal court.

The noise coming from the court last until very late at night (till there are no more people) and starts early in the morning. Not fun, and short night of sleep. Be warmned.

Room Tip: Central court is noisy, avoid any room with windows on that court

When you enter Wilson hotel, you won't be impressed in the first moment, it looks a bit businesslike and not fancy at all, but we found it to be a very good standard, indeed much better than expected. We were pleasantly surprised by our room which was really big. We had a lot of space, which meant luxury for us, since we are travelling with much luggage. The beds also were larger than normal and very comfortable - a big plus for me!
Bathroom also was spacious and modern with a lot of amenities, so the relatively high level of our accomodation was a pleasant surprise for us.

Internet connection was excellent - actually one of the few places during our trip in northern Argentina where the internet worked reliably. Staff was very kind and helpful, providing us with a lot of useful information. They even helped us settle a problem with our rental car.

Breakfast: For me it was one of the best breakfasts of our trip in Argentina. The reason: most hotels only serve sweet stuff for breakfast, which I dislike. Many of them don't even have fresh fruit or fesh juices. Not so Wilson hotel: the biggest surprise was the unlimited amount of freshly squeezed orange juice one could have at the buffet breakfast. It was delicious! They also served cheese and ham, for which I was really grateful, since I normally had to be content with dulce de leche and so on.

Location could not be better: only 3 or 4 minutes walk to the main plaza with the cathedral and to the commercial center with many shops and a pedestrian street. The other attractions of Salta are also easily reached by foot.

Overall a very good experience, much better than expected, and a very good value for the money.

A well located hotel near to the centre of the city, so plenty of choice for restaraunts and cafes. Hotel has all that is required with good wifi and comfortable rooms. staff were helpful as on our visit the fiesta for the Gauchos was taking place. English was spoken by reception staff. Reasonable buffet breakfast .

Room Tip: Higher the better

We arrived into the hotel at midnight after a flight from Buenos Aires. Staff was nice and efficient in getting us checked in, front desk spoke good English. The room was spacious and clean, bathroom was of a good size too.

The location was handy to the square however on a Sunday, almost everything was shut. It was a really quite town with not much to do apart from an onwards journey towards La Quiaca for our trip to Bolivia

If your considering the Wilson hotel it's a great choice when in Salta. Yes, it is a budget hotel but delivers in service and is an excellent location and lobby.

HOWEVER, the staff failed to mention that all the croissants and coffee/tea we ate during the day was being recorded and is not complimentary. Upon checkout I was hit with a big bill, and that's not cool that none of the staff working the kitchen ever mentioned a thing. And we were tipping the staff!

The breakfast is your standard Argentine menu and is buffet. It includes, croissants, dulce de leche, corn flakes, rolls, breads, ham, cheese, yogurts, fresh orange juice, coffee and tea.

The rooms are quite spacious and the comfortable bed we think was king size even though we thought we were getting just a double. The bathroom and storage area look newer and renovated, and the bedroom area is what you'd expect in a budget hotel.

The location is less than a 5 minute walk to the main central square. The service is great aside from the HUGE mishap we experienced. We arrived for an early check-in and it wasn't a problem at all. Additionally, we were provided with a bus card to use to get around town.

The lobby has croissants, cookies, coffee and tea and more throughout the day, BUT it comes at a cost! Hope this helps future guests!

BTW, the WIFI is excellent and better than in many of the nearby cafes. They have connections for every floor in the hotel. Two thumbs up to the Wilson!
