We ate here for dinner 2 nights in a row. This opens at 8pm each night and is immediately packed (but it is a large restaurant so there is plenty of room). They bring you their bread with baked white beans marinated in a garlic olive oil with spices as well as their homemade tomato salsa. Be sure to scoop some beans and salsa on the bread and eat it. It was so good. They also have a good wine list with very reasonable prices. My husband and I tried a bottle of Malbec the first night and just had a glass of wine each the next since we just stopped in for the empanadas, salsa and beans. We tried a trio of empanadas the first night (cheese, beef and chicken). They were so good that we ordered another round. We also tried their tamale (which they are known for in Salta). It was good (better than what we have had in the US) but didn't hold a candle to the US. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, value and service!

We were seated immediately without a reservation, very attentive to our questions regarding some items on the menu. The food was delicious

We eat here twice. Steak was good and the local dishes of lentils and the locro where really good.
Frendly and helpful. Wine good and all the usual dishes well served.
It’s gets full around 10 when the locals come to eat. 7-9 no resavation needed.

Our experience at Doña Salta was good. The place is large but cozy, the service friendly and our food was good. Good price for value.

Salta. We came, not as visitors but residents so may have a slightly different perspective.
A great place to visit for 2-3 days in the city and about the same in the province.
The old town is lovely, but as is most parts of this once great country, broken and tired.
Food and wine: superb! Cheap Don David ($5 bottle) and steak that is simple and wonderful.
Provincially there is the mountains, tobacco farms, big rivers that sometimes have water.
The best time of year is December to May but expect hot and humid.
