Villa Vicuna is great value for money and much nicer than most 3 star hotels. The room was gorgeous and spacious and the location is unbeatable (even with roadworks outside!)

The small negatives are that the breakfast is limited and the pool area, while gorgeous, is small with only 3 loungers. On the day we decided to laze around the hotel there were 8 people who wanted to relax by the pool, so more loungers in the grassed area would have been good although I didn’t mind spreading my towel on the ground.

Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

It’s perfect place close to mean square, it’s an old typical house that was transformed in a lovely stylish boutique hotel. The people at the reception are super friendly and helpful all the boys working in the hotel are incredible well manners, caring and helpful.
It’s clean, breakfast is good and the decoration and style it’s incredibly well done .

Villa Vicuna is a fantastic boutique hotel.

GENERAL: a true boutique hotel built in a colonial-style house, featuring an extremely lovely garden and backyard.

LOCATION: great location, within walking distance to all the main attractions in Salta. Lots of restaurants nearby.

ROOMS: extremely nice and clean. We stayed in a large room with a high-roof, so it was always nice inside. I have ZERO complaints.

BREAKFAST: a wide selection of items, scrambled eggs are prepared upon request and so is your coffee, so each guest is catered to individually. What really stood out, though, is the fact that on 3 occasions, breakfast was served to us way ahead of time at 5 am! That´s a plus for great boutique hotels, as opposed to large chain hotels where you dont get any individual treatment.

STAFF: they are all extremely helpful and willing to help, from the guys in the reception to the cleaning staff.

The hotel has a great style, the rooms are beautiful, I had one with the garden view and like it a lot. Breakfast is sufficient, staff is very helpful, the location is perfect for Salta, quiet but very central.

Room Tip: Take the garden view. The room is quiet and the view is great!

charming period piece boutique hotel ideally situated, decorated in a chintzy but tasteful way, good sized room

but two major problems ...
1- the layout and design coupled with the surface tiling of floors has created a 200 foot long, 15 foot wide echo chamber that has minimal sound attenuation so every door closure, conversation, laughter from the bar is magnified like a megaphone creating a real challenge to peace and quiet ... a late party in the breakfast room cum bar sounded like a civil uprising in the next room

2- no kitchen, so nothing can be prepared bar the cold buffet breakfast, and if you have allergies, like gluten, cheese etc then you go hungry

central location is a real bonus but not for those who revel in peace, tranquility and a breakfast that has more than an unimaginative buffet, charming reception staff and generally very OK

shame about the acoustics, a real downer

Room Tip: as far away from the breakfast diner cum bar as possible, buy some ear defenders and visit the local mini-mercado for some variety
