“A garden in the jungle”

I can only agree with other reviewers that this has to be the most fun place to stay in Puerto Iguazu. Of course part of that depends on the other guests but the place seems to attract people who are interesting and congenial.
We went to dinner with the other guests, after the snacks and drinks the first night....but could hardly eat as we were so full. The second night we just called the snacks our dinner. We were so tired from the day at the falls we just rested. The drinks were wonderful too.

John was a great host and has lots of stories. i loved the one about the pesto.
His helpers were also very pleasant and they were all very hard working to make the place pleasant for guests.

I traveled alone to Iguazu, I am a young female and when traveling alone I try to stay in places where I know I will get the best service... That place was definitely the Secret Garden. The secret to the Secret Garden is John.

Like other reviews mentions the attention to detail is impecable. He gives you a personalized tour of iguazu so you know how to move around and where. He has a few taxi drivers that he personally works with and can arrange a variety of trips. John is a wise, kind ,well traveled man who can give you advise about any field trip or activity in the area, and over cocktail hour can give you advice about anything else ;).

John rooms are clean and spacious and very pretty, the garden in the inn is very nice and the whole place is very relaxing for a getaway.

There is wifi in the lobby, free breakfast which is very fresh and yummy , free mate at noon and free cocktail hour of local cocktails with the other guests.

I got sick during my stay and John found a great relaxing activity for me to do so i could unwind and recover, It was awesome. Also, during the last day of my stay went to the airport and realized I had left my keys behind in my checked out room. John and his staff, in this case one of his taxi drivers Leonardo were very attentive and went back to search my room, found my keys and brought them back to the airport. The taxi driver didnt charge me but I gave him a very generous tip anyways. They came back and delivered my keys by hand at the airport.

John strives so that all his guests have the most memorable experience possible and even takes pictures at the end in his garden so you can have a postcard as a souvenir.

5 starts to John and his staff for their service!
Salud!

We arrived at Secret Garden exhausted and a bit worried that it just couldn't live up to the reviews. We were not disappointed though!!! From the moment we were greeted at the airport, to arriving at secret garden and getting a short tour of iguazu from John we were convinced we were going to have a great time.

John was fab at arranging trips and recommending restaurants and sights that we simply wouldn't have seen without him.

The best thing about secret Garden though, is the people - John included. We met some wonderful people there and had great conversations over snacks and caipirinhas!

If you are going to Iguazu, go to secret garden!

We stayed here for 2 nights last November and absolutely loved it. John was amazing and went out of his way to help us, organising a driver from the airport on the Argentine side, to take us to the Brazil side of the falls and pick us up, and to take us to airport on the brazilian side. he even took us for a drive around the town and to the place here you can stand in Argentina and see both Brazil and Paraguay. we learnt so much about iguazu and about argentina and has some great philosophical debates!
after a hot day of travelling or trekking around the falls, the caipirinhas at happy hour were such a great end to the day. john was very interesting and an excellent host. we also got our washing done (we were backpacking....need i say more!) and our clothes were fresh, pressed and folded beautifully. john also arranged for some mate to be made for us after we mentioned that we hadn't yet tried it. it is this attention to detail and pride in their work that make the staff and john excellent hosts and 'the secret garden' a wonderful place to stay. i would recommend this b&b to anyone, in particular if you enjoy meeting people from around the world and stopping to enjoy the simple things in life like a beautifully prepared drink.

The Secret Garden is a lovely B&B; nice and clean, excellent breakfast and a great location. The real value, however, is in John himself, who is a fantastic host - very attentive and helpful.
He answered promptly to all of our questions and requests, and as he knows everything there is to know about Iguazu, he helped us make the most of our two nights stay. The complimentary 7pm drinks with the other guests was great - John had lots of stories to tell us himself, but he also excelled in the role as the talkshow host, creating a wonderful atmosphere where everyone just relaxed and enjoyed themselves (the caipirinhas, bruschettas and other snacks helped as well - lovely).

100% recommended, will definitely stay again should we return to Iguazu!
