The room was reasonable with a few notable, yet minor, maintenance issues (the pipes around the toilet were leaking), but overall the price was good.

Note if you booking this online they use an inflated exchange rate to convert a US dollar transaction back to pesos, which is in their favor and milk you for another 5-8%. The have bottled water in the room but Evian for US$5 a small bottle.

The location is pretty good, being about a 4-5 block walk from the Florida mall.

The steak restaurant across the road, Remolinos, is highly recommended. Try the bife de chorizo or the ojo.

Centrally located hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. A bit old and dated furnishings but the staff are very helpful and obliging. I asked for and got a kettle for our room. Excellent WiFi. Fridge in room.

The hotel presents as a 3.5 star, but presumably it was last reviewed in 1987.

On the downside:
The rooms are very tired and in need of a makeover. Judging by what appear to be trainer prints up the wall to the AC vent, Spiderman stayed there before us.
My elbow still hurts from repeatedly smashing it against the toilet roll holder as the seat was fixed off-centre and required a side-saddle mount.
The breakfast room is small and the chairs look like they have been there since the hotel opened. Due to size of breakfast room, you will probably have to wait for a table, except at the quietest times of year.

On the plus side:
The saving of this hotel is the staff. Unfailingly polite, friendly and could not be more helpful. They alone are worth a return visit.
The breakfast (included in our very reasonable room rate) was extensive and the pastries were delicious.
Location is great with a number of excellent restaurants and shopping areas in easy walking distance.
If you are feeling energetic, even Recoleta is walkable, although you may wish to cab back if you have a beer.
