We stayed here in March 2019 and enjoyed the colorful warmth and relaxed atmosphere of this hotel. It was in a vibrant neighborhood and provided us with a good base from which to explore Buenos Aires on foot and by cab. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the homemade jams they serve are legendary for a reason!

We stayed here 4 nights in total over 2 separate stays. We were greeted with real friendliness and warmth on our arrival and throughout both stays. The staff that we met were so helpful and kind that they alone would make you want to return!
Firstly, we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel. It was a triple and so we had plenty of space. The room was clean, comfortable and full of character (like the rest of the hotel in general). We did need ear plugs as, being a weekend, there was quite a bit of noise in the street. During our second stay, we were given a room towards the back on the first floor. This was somewhat smaller (the bathroom awkwardly designed) and without the safe or TV of the previous room. Otherwise, it was comfortable and much quieter.
The breakfast was great - delicious homemade jams and a selection of breads and pastries, fruit etc.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here.

This is a really quirky hotel - full of character, very shabby chic.

My room was very comfortable - a tad worn in places but good.

Breakfast was solid, had plenty of choices and very tasty.

Service was pleasant - couldn’t fault it. Location is perfect.

Casa Rugantino was THE place to breath, relax, chill and ensure a perfect end to my stay in BA. What a adorable nest within the city! The inner courtyard full of a rich vegetation, the old style of the residence, the large room, the delicious breakfast including real Italian coffee, give such a charm to the place. Plus the staff who’s very helful and welcoming. I’ll be back there for sure!

First of all, the Rugantino is located on a nice quiet street in the heart of Palermo. Lots of nice restaurants in every direction. The common space is what is a little bit “funky”. It is as if you are coming into a family home. Many interesting knickknacks, plants, books, a cat, etc...as others have mentioned, kind of bohemian. If this isn’t your style this place may not be for you. The room we stayed in was on the third floor. It was quite basic, very clean, the air conditioner worked well, and overall very nice. The breakfast in the morning was great. The owner made fresh crepes and the coffee was delicious. Not a lot of English spoken that I noticed but they do their best. Of course you are in Argentina,..Everyone that we met was very nice.
