Great place with responsive staff. Well trained. Rooms are typical Ritz. Public spaces are comfortable. The property has landscaping that lets the building disappear into the environment. This Ritz is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Even rooms near the elevators are quiet.

The best place to have a holiday party. The best people to work with. From the person at the front gate, to the valet - was greeted with respect and courtesy. Very accommodating. Can't wait for next years party!

Do not go if you have a flu, cold or any other visible illness. They will let you check in, then call you and confine you to your room. The room had multiple broken lamps and other non-functioning items. Room service does not have pizza for some reason. The location manager, front desk and loss prevention are staffed with at least a few liars who completely make up policies and procedures, which are most likely illegal. Bring your full medical history and current health screen if you expect to leave the room.

Liam D, General Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, responded to this reviewResponded 13 December 2017

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments and we apologize for any misunderstanding that might have occurred when our Front of House Manager called to inquire about the well-being of your children as we had been made aware that they had the Chickenpox.

As a Company, as well as, at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, the well-being of our guests and our Ladies and Gentlemen is of utmost importance to us. That said, as Chickenpox is a very contagious disease and can be serious, especially in people with weakened immune systems, who may be pregnant or to those who have never had Chickenpox, the Hotel would have been totally irresponsible not to have placed the call to follow-up with you, once our In-Room Dining Associate was made aware by the gentleman in the guestroom that the children were infected with the Chickenpox. You did not inform us that the children were no longer contagious and why it was suggested that the children remain in the guestroom to avoid exposing others unnecessarily.

We trust your children are feeling better and we hope you understand the reasoning behind our well-being inquiry.

With kind regards,
Liam Doyle
General Manager

This was our second time at this property and we were again amazed. If you want somewhere to go and relax without having to leave the property this is the place. We stayed for 3 nights and never ledt!

My husband and I visited for a medical conference. The mountain location is perfect for quick access to hiking, with a variety of trails—long, short, easy, more difficult. Amazing saguaros and desert landscape.
Our room had lovely details, a large bathroom with rain shower and separate oversized tub. The mini fridge was the kind that is weighted with a sensor. But I was following a special diet for health reasons, and called ahead. So when I arrived, they had emptied the fridge so I could use it. That was very nice.
There was a Krups machine in the room so I could have herbal tea, but it never seemed to get the water past lukewarm.
Our room had a nice Mountain View balcony with a table and chairs where we could see both the pools (the fire sconces were a lovely touch) and the sunset.
The one downside was being above the restaurant, which is a problem unless you are up before 7. Even on floor 3, I was awakened by the sounds of people chatting over breakfast and the outside tables.
The downside is food—few options and very gourmet food. Th snack bar offered smoothies for a comparatively reasonable 8$ per, but it was always closed by noon. We are room service twice, but more options for snacks would be nice. There is a small shopping plaza with a couple of options, including a good Italian place, Vero, that is about a ten minute drive , and a grocery store/supercenter that sells everything from food to clothing, about 15 minutes away.
The golf club has a burger place that is excellent—but don’t expect casual here, either. They may serve burgers (and they are good) but the ambience suggests fine dining. I suggest finding an outdoor table—they have heating elements and a fireplace.
Th fitness room has a good selection of equipment and weight machines, and I enjoyed a great yoga class one morning—the instructor gave options to make it work for a variety of levels and gave good instructions on technique to avoid injury.
The pool was nice, as well as the water slide.
This is a beautifully decorated resort, and we enjoyed our room. If you are looking for a secluded resort and your taste in food runs to the gourmet, this is a great choice.
